Counting how many checkboxes are checked in Google Sheets

My daughter is doing a project for me and she is using checkboxes in Google Sheets to keep track of how many she creates. Counting by hand is for the birds, use a countif formula to know how many of the checkboxes are checked.

Super tutorial. If you want to show how many are checked (X) versus the total (Y) in the same cell – example "34 of 60", the formula is =countif(A3:A, true)&" of "&counta(A3:A, true)

For those with trouble try "=countif(F3:F; "true")" change "F" for the letter you wanna use

Thank you. But I’m having some trouble. I’m following your directions precisely but I want the total to appear under the column instead of in the following column. But it still stays at 0 even when I check of boxes. What am I doing wrong? What I don’t see you do is the part after inputting ...true). Do you click outside the cell you want the total to appear in, or do you click elsewhere? Thank you in advance.

if ", " is not working, try to use " ; " instead. worked for me

I am looking to count checkmarks with the date. Like how many check are marks on a certain day and need to do it for the whole month
