Too bad you couldn't stay in Chapala longer. Lots more to see and experience. Cristiania Park is a treat. We find Chapala to be more walkable than Ajijic, but happy when newcomers go to Ajijic instead of Chapala, to not spoil the more authentic Mexican experience of Chapala. Cheers!

The train station/gallery has a free concert every Sunday at noon. Some are amazing! Next door is a beautiful garden centre and with a cool restaurant/bar. I stayed in an Air bnb for a month right down by the Malecon. Really loved it but I can see how Ajijic has a lot to offer. Thanks again!

Ajijic is boutique-y, unwalkable & swarming with Americans, . Chapala is working-class with not so many foreigners. Looks like you were in La Floresta which is a beautiful area.
