North Macedonia in Eurovision Song Contest (1996-2022)

North Macedonia, previously presented in the contest as the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (F.Y.R. Macedonia), has participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 21 times since its official debut in 1998. The country had attempted to participate in 1996, but failed to qualify from the audio-only qualifying round. The current Head of Delegation is Meri Popova.

Prior to 2019, North Macedonia's best result was a 12th-place finish with Elena Risteska in 2006. Having qualified from the semi-final round only once in ten of the previous eleven contests (2008–18), North Macedonia achieved its best result to date in 2019, when Tamara Todevska qualified and finished in seventh place in the final after winning the jury vote.

North Macedonia is one of the most underrated eurovision contestants. They are serving good songs every year. 2015, 2018 and 2022 hurt me the most.

It's sad to see they could've qualified in 2008 and 2009 and continue their qualifying streak (2004-2007) if the jury wildcard doesn't exist :|

I'm really happy for Andrea. Everyone doubted her and called her a sure last place since day one, and she managed to sussed everyone's expectations and come eleventh and barely qualify! She probably would have qualified if Azerbaijan didn't buy votes (allegedly). Can't help but Stan!

Crno i Belo deserved top 10, Dance Alone deserved to qualify, etc. North Macedonia is usually so underrated. Hopefully Tamara won't be their only top 10 for long ❤️💛

Love XXL in 2000. Not one of them could carry much of a tune or dance very well but they are truly iconic. I still listen to the song occasionally. I wonder what they did after the competition, I couldn't find out anything online.

I really like them, I actually think that they are REALLY underrated and that they usually bring many great songs (sadly threy struggle with the live performances). Dance Alone and Lost And Found were two songs that could esily qualify if the live was better :/

The kings of 9th and 10th place semi final finishes in the 2000s, and the wildcards of the 2010s where their two qualifiers have gotten them their best results to date! What a fun country, you never know what they’re gonna participate with next!
