Thing about kokushibo is that their relationship was more of a mutual deal rather than the master subordinate relationship he has with the others
For instance akaza caught muzans attention after massacring people so he had him join his side because akaza was filled with hate, this is almost exclusively beneficial to muzan who gets a solid fighter and does very little to akazas personal life and beliefs
He made a deal with michikatsu that you can survive the demon slayer mark and it’s death if you become a demon and you can use this time to become a better swordsman than your brother, in return help me for my cause too, it wasn’t a forced ultimatum it was an offer that michikatsu accepted
It’s not quite a master subordinate relationship with kokushibo like it is with the others
Another proof for this is how kokushibo constantly calls muzan “that man” during his fight with the hashiras, all other demons think twice before taking his name and only call him lord nothing more nothing less
There are occasions where kokushibo does this too but they’re far and few in between
We also saw how unfazed he was during the upper moon meeting when muzan got mad, others practically shat themselves and he just said idk what to tell you bro
This is the difference in conversation between someone who is clearly superior vs someone you are on level footing with(not power wise) akaza knows he’s screwed if he messes up kokushibo can just tell muzan that he didn’t get it done and that’s that
