Learning from the Netherlands is like "drinking from a fire hose". Great remark, John.
Fun fact: the fire hose is a Dutch invention (1673).

I feel like I'm on the same journey as Emily. It's a joy to see this movement grow.

Great episode John! I'm also a teacher and looking to start a master's of public administration program in the next year. I love hearing you talk to other educators! I'm definitely going to look into one of the Dutch summer school programs you've highlighted on the show!

Emily's excitement was really palpable in this interview. I had a huge smile on my face by the end to know there are other people excited about transforming our streets and cities safe, making them safe for children (and everyone else 🙂).

I love your point John about being a "fish in water" and not knowing how things could be different. That was very true for me... up until a little over a year ago I couldn't see, but now that I'm aware of the possibilities I feel almost radical in my desire to live in a people oriented city. I hope I'm not alone in that so we can effect that change here in the U.S.!
