More than 200 musicians sign open letter against use of AI

From Nicki Minaj to Billie Eilish, more than 200 artists from every genre signed an open letter to AI developers and tech companies saying that unchecked use of the technology will degrade the value of their work and prevent musicians from being fairly compensated. "Degrade the value of their work" LOL. Good music will never be replaced by AI. Take a look at actual bands that focus on making actual music instead of "artists" like Nicki Minaj who are just reproducing the same boring patterns over and over again because the music industry has learned that this will generate the most value for the least input. Fans of actual bands would condemn them instantly even if they would start using auto-tune or a drum machine instead of a real musicians. If I am going to an Opeth or Nightwish concert for example, I want to see them actually perform their songs live. Not just the singer. I want to see how the drummer, the bassist, the guitar players and the keyboarder is able to perform live. And I also want to hear their work on the albums.
So as I said in the beginning, good music won't be replaced by AI, but if I were Billie Eilish or Nicki Minaj I would start to worry, too.
The music industry just has to learn to focus on actual music again, like it did in the 80ies. So in my opinion: Good times ahead. :)

The Music Industry put themselves in this position by allowing subtalented/ no talented fakes and flakes to do music mostly done by computers with auto-tuning to begin with!
