Don't resist arrest. Period. People never blame themselves, as they lack a moral responsibility.

Tell em Larry. These kids nowadays think NWA is the soundtrack to their lives. Then they end up dead over foolish behavior.

What about a stolen ID situation where you might have a FALSE charge against you that you didn't know about. Just cause you believe you're not guilty of anything still doesn't mean the Police don't have the right to investigate you, which includes possibly temporarily taking you into custody/arrest you. It's unpleasant and certainly a startling incident to go through, to be sure, but NOT worth risking your health or life over by forcing the Officers to use force on you because you're throwing a temper tantrum!
But if you go around with this callers attitude, you're gonna risk getting Tazed or shot when all you needed to have done is COMPLY and LIVE to deal with the issue LEGALLY after the Police are finished processing you.
Thanks for sharing this Mr. Elder!

They are called officers for a reason. They have authority. Obey, comply. Simple.

I'm white and I've been pulled over for expired plates dangling things from my mirror airshocks bumper too high from stock height. I never fought with the police and ran I paid my fines etc. I have been tossed on a car arguing with someone else not the police but the police threw me on the car for not quitting the fight. I didn't blame anyone but myself come on people the only reason I didn't get pulled over for window tint is because I didn't do it. It's the law and I took responsibility for my own actions and by the way grew up poor as dirt. Didn't do well in school but graduated. Took welding classes in high school and made a living so quit the whining. I lived through Carter presidency when I was out of work and everything was equal opportunity crap. 2500 people applying for a job and only hiring 10 people black or female. 35 years metal trades average 30-4o thousand a year. There's my white privilege and I was better than most at what I did. I'm sick of hearing it to tell the truth.

We're still waiting for the first person to volunteer that they've done something wrong when accosted by police. If individuals are the arbiters of whether or not they 'did something wrong' in a law-enforcement interaction, the jails would be empty and the court system would be a golf club; because there'd be no business to conduct.

The mentality of this caller is a big part of why so many blacks die at the hands of police. You fight the charge in court, not at the scene.

Is there an origin story as to why Mr. Elder refers to MSNBC as MSNBC Hee-Ha?
