"Dont buy the camera, go on a trip to a different country instead" is probably the single greatest piece of photography advice I have ever heard

I had the XT3 for about a year when the XT4 came out, after a period of temptation and endless days and nights of reflecting about the pros/cons I decided to add the XT4 to my collection. The main factors of my decision were the larger battery, the IBIS (even for stills when taking handheld shots at lower speeds), and the apparent improved AF over the XT3 (I don't care about the screen whether it flips or tilts). Well after good 2 years of use, I don't regret the larger battery life to this day, the IBIS comes handy when I shoot video from time to time, the additional film simulations, especially the Eterna Bleach Bypass like it's tone very much and use it often. The fact that I bought the XT4 in silver made me first question if I took the right look, but now it looks to me more vintage than my allblack XT3 and I like the look it has combined with the black lenses. Now last but not least, to say in terms of AF and image quality, I would notice a significant difference between the XT3 and XT4, that's not the case. But me personally I didn't mind buying the XT4, for the reasons mentioned above.
Thanks for this clip Eren! Cheers

What about autofocus performance in xt4? Many out there say autofocus is not great especially in tracking.

Nice episode as always. Great camera it is, yet I never jumped from my xt2/xt3 to xt4 due to the larger size and flip screen…but ibis and bigger battery is very nice to have and upgrade worthy for those who doesn’t mind about those two things that bothered me…

I’m very glad that Fuji bring back the size and tilt screen in xt5 which I hope would be my next camera to add in bag…

Great video…I have a XT4 and a XT2 converted for IR (720nm) at the sensor. Several XF lenses… great system, brand and quality! Cannot be happier…Be safe, Cheers..

I think one interesting advantage of the XT5 that noone is talking about is the digital teleconverter/crop in camera that you get due to the 40 MP sensor size. If you want a minimalist prime kit, you have that option now, which is really great for street. The digital telenconverter gives you a 1.4x crop @ 20 MP and a 2x crop @ 10 MP. I think 10 MP is pushing it but 20 MP is fantastic amount of resolution especially when coupled with the resolving power of any of the F2 WR or modern primes. That means you can take the XT5 and 2 primes out and effectively have 4 lenses (if you only use the 1.4x crop), and cut the number of lens swaps in half. For me it means I no longer see a zoom as necessary as a 1.4x crop gets me basically the same resolution as what I get with my kit zoom on the old 24 MP sensors. Even if you crop all the way down to 2x which is 10 MP, that's still a super usable image (12"x8" print @ 300 dpi) and full screen 4K display size. I would only do it in a pinch, but you still have that option - with a single 23mm lens you can crop all the way down to an equivalent 50mm and still have completely usable images!!

Of course you can crop in post as well, but it's nice to composite in camera. Carry a 23 f2 and 50f2 and you have effectively a 23, 32, 50, and 70mm focal lengths while staying above 20 MP.

The fact that you get 40 MP with basically the same noise performance in the same sensor size is astonishing and a huge achievement in terms of sensor performance that shouldn't be understated. The freedom it gives you in editing is just fantastic. It's equivalent to a 90 megapixel full frame sensor in terms of pixel density. Fuji has pushed APSC to it's limit in my opinion.

All that said, the T4 and T3 are both obviously great cameras. It really just depends how much demand you are putting on your gear and what your requirements are as a hobbyist or professional. The T5 basically unlocks everything which is not something everyone will want or need.

I was waiting for the x-t5 for ages. The main reason being the auto focus. The 40mp is nice but not needed, the smaller body and nostalgic neg would be nice too. But the x-t4 has slightly better dials and I like the flippy screen. I bought a used x-t4 for £800 shutter count of 3000. Its like new. Im really happy with it. Glad I didn't pay the extra 900 quid for me to have better sutofocus. X-t4 auto focus doesn't seem that bad either. Just not quite as as my a7iv.

I think it's very worth buying right now. I'm seeing so many for sale at great prices. Kind of like 2 years ago when I bought my X-T3. I've been quite tempted to buy one, but I still really like my X-T3 very much and I don't shoot video with my camera yet. I'm actually just beginning that journey and will use my phone learn. However, video aside, I might have already sold my X-T3 and bought an X-T4 package if it weren't for one little flippy screen. I only say that because I primarily use my X-T3 for photography and for that I still like the X-T3 LCD mechanism better. So, while that bigger battery and IBIS are nice, I think I'll be waiting a while to get any new camera. There are quite a lot of good deals out there for very nice examples of both the T3 and the T4. Plus, if you're just into photography even the X-T2 is pretty great. Thanks for the info. Have a great weekend!

Excellent advice. Looking at one now with 56mm/1.2 and 16mm/1.4 for about $1600.

As a hobbyist I operate a bit further behind the curve version wise as my simple rule, having looked at Fuji's past pricing trends, is not to spend more than 500 GBP on a body. My current premiums are a Graphite X-Pro2 & an X100F. It takes a bit of time for models to reach that level, but we're already seeing the X-H1 available around that price and the X-T3 has now dropped to the 580-660 range on Mpb so likely in a year you'll be able to pick one up for around 500. To be honest since I don't do video and I have 24mp resolution with what I have I've reached the stage with the X-series where I question whether the marginal improvements will make a noticeable difference to my photography. I understand it's a different ball game for working professionals.

Thank you for the video! Could you please give your thoughts on the video capabilities of xt-4 compared to x-pro3? Thanks in advance

Seriously, the XT4 is a great camera in fact, really if you look at any Fuji film camera in the last seven or eight years and maybe even before that they don't make bad cameras. I've held about 10 different Fuji film cameras in my hand over the last six months as I was deciding which one to buy and I was just boring friends Fuji film cameras and I tried all sorts of different ones actually for a brief two months I owned a Fuji film X – S 10 man that Camera rocked it was so good why don't I need any more well my son looked at it and said I want that camera so I sold that camera to him and I bought an XT5. But the XT4 was a very very close consideration, and the only reason I didn't buy an XT4 and it wasn't the flip out screen as I got used to that. It was because I shoot landscapes and product photography I want to the extra megapixels yeah okay shoot me I'm guilty. But I'm coming also from the Nikon system where I'm still using a Nikon D850 and yeah megapixel still count in my eyes people can argue that they don't, but they give you the ability to crop. I think of megapixels as cropping power. I would like to see videos talk about cropping power as opposed to megapixels because that's really what allows you to Do okay back to the XT4 brilliant camera, brilliant sensor. There's a bunch of them going on sale at the moment, grab one if you're in that budget line and you're not sure and you'll get used to the flippy screen because you can turn it around and still have it on the back as a normal camera. You just can't articulate it downwards but that doesn't happen very often. Anyway, you can still see the screen, even if the camera is l. It is a brilliant brilliant camera and I have used it myself and in the future because I probably will sell one of my Nikon buddies as I have too many of them. I will probably buy an XT for as my back up to my XT5 and then I have the perfect setup. Have a great day and sorry for my typing. I don't type I use voice text as I cannot be bothered sitting on a keyboard for that long, cheers peace out and sorry for my typing. I don't type One of the things that I've noticed is you could pick up any Fuji film camera take photos with it and the photos will look fairly similar. I'm not saying they will look exactly the same because that would be a lie but you cannot go wrong with most of the Fuji film bodies produced in the last seven or eight years. You just need to pick one you like the look of and go with it and put some nice glass on it and away you go and talking about glass just for a second, I love Fuji film because they make affordable lens. Fuji film make the best kit lenses out of any manufacture I have seen bar none in fact, Nikon, Sony and Canon make the worst kid lenses ever in the history of mankind. In fact, you Mazal, get the kit lens and throw it back at the service person, and so he should paper wait for the next six months, because they are absolute rubbish. Where is Fuji film? The kit lens is totally usable and if you did want to so you're probably still get 150 to 200 bucks for it. That is great value and I'm urging people to get into the Fuji system, because it is affordable.

Great video! I had an x-t4 for just a few days last year, bough it used, but for some reason it had massive overheating issues, where it would overheat filming 24p 4k after less than 15 minutes. After that I sent it back and got an x-t3. I believe both the 3 and 4 are still amazing, having the exact same sensor and besides the IBIS only minor differences, both are amazing hybrids. I was hoping the prices would come down a bit more after the h2, h2s and t5 came out, but they are still stuck at the same price point they were when I bought mine.
Anyways, love the cameras and your work. Keep it up 🙌
