Jehovah's Witnesses - Proclaimers of a Different Good News Part 2 1914

The focus of the good news preached by Jehovah’s Witnesses today is God’s Kingdom. Their message is that Jesus was enthroned as king of a literal government in heaven in the year 1914. This supposedly began a period of time called the last days, which will culminate in a future destruction of the wicked at Armageddon, after which he and 144,000 heavenly co-rulers will reign and bring the earth to paradise conditions resembling the garden of Eden. This video examines how they arrive at the date 1914 and if there is scriptural basis for their calculations.

They aren't the first ones to say this. I forgot the name of the man but he proclaimed Jesus was coming back sometime in the 1800s and to prepare for the rapture. Hundreds of people followed him they stood on a hilltop and waited for the rapture. When it never came almost everyone of his followers left and called him a liar. He was so sure he was correct on the date then he came to realization oh it was that date but it wasn't the date for the rapture it was the date that Jesus stepped into the holy of holies in the temple of heaven.

There is nothing written in king Nebuchadnezzar dream about a second fulfilment . There was one fulfilment and it was already fulfilled long ago . The dream was all about what would happen to king Nebuchadnezzar and did happen to him . The seven times were 7 years . There is nothing written in Daniel that says to add a day for a year or in revelation . There is only two places in the Bible that speak of a day for a year and they were both for a period of 40 years and there is nothing written in the Bible that says this day for a year can be applied to other verses and it's not a Bible rule that says to apply it to any other verse . Clearly they are putting forth their own idea

The Devil confirmed he was the ruler of the world. He had been allowed to rule by God.

Luke 4:5, 6 New International Version
5The devil led him up to a high place and showed him in an instant all the kingdoms of the world. 6And he said to him, *“I will give you all their authority and splendor; it has been given to me, and I can give it to anyone I want to.*

When on earth Jesus clearly identified that Satan was the ruler of the world.

John 14:30 Amplified Bible
I will not speak with you much longer, *for the ruler of the world (Satan) is coming.* And he has no claim on Me [no power over Me nor anything that he can use against Me];

If Jesus had been king of the world at that time he would have been guilty of sedition against Rome. However he was cleared of that charge.

John 19:4-15 New Living Translation
4Pilate went outside again and said to the people, “I am going to bring him out to you now, *but understand clearly that I find him not guilty.”* 5Then Jesus came out wearing the crown of thorns and the purple robe. And Pilate said, “Look, here is the man!”

Jesus confirmed that at that time he was NOT an earthly king. His current assignment was to testify to truth about God.

John 18:36, 37 New Living Translation
36Jesus answered,  *“My Kingdom is not an earthly kingdom.* If it were, my followers would fight to keep me from being handed over to the Jewish leaders. *But my Kingdom is not of this world.”*
37Pilate said, “So you are a king?”
Jesus responded,  “You say I am a king. *Actually, I was born and came into the world to testify to the truth.* All who love the truth recognize that what I say is true.”

Jesus was to become king of the earth in the distant future of that time. Jesus said this repeatedly. *He explained he would go away and return as a King.*

11The crowd was listening to everything Jesus said. *And because he was nearing Jerusalem, he told them a story to correct the impression that the Kingdom of God would begin right away.* 12He said,  *“A nobleman was called away to a distant empire to be crowned king and then return.* 13Before he left, he called together ten of his servants and divided among them ten pounds of silver, b saying, ‘Invest this for me while I am gone.’ 14But his people hated him and sent a delegation after him to say, ‘We do not want him to be our king.’

The bible foretold that Jesus would have to wait in heaven to become king of the earth.

At that time he had full authority over the church/congregation of Christians.

Jesus would eventually be crowned King of the earth. Daniel explained this. Just like at his ascension to heaven he disappeared in the clouds, Daniel saw Jesus in the clouds at his return and Crowning as king...

It was at this point a war sparked in heaven between the ruler of the world (Satan) and the new ruler Michael (Jesus).

Michael and his angels fought against the dragon and his angels. 8And the dragon lost the battle, and he and his angels were forced out of heaven.* 9This great dragon—the ancient serpent called the devil, *or Satan, the one deceiving the whole world—was thrown down to the earth with all his angels.*

*“It has come at last—salvation and power and the Kingdom of our God, and the authority of his Christ.* a

Jesus had said at his return there would be World War over rulership of the earth. 1914 therefore fits the bill.

Matthew 24:3, 7 New Living Translation
3Later, Jesus sat on the Mount of Olives. His disciples came to him privately and said, “Tell us, when will all this happen? *What sign will signal your return* and the end of the world?a”
*7Nation will go to war against nation, and kingdom against kingdom.* There will be famines and earthquakes in many parts of the world.
