my grandmother was a spiritual daughter of Padre Pio.
my uncle (his son) had just died, he was only 14 years old.
and Padre Pio, without my grandmother even showing up or knowing anything about her, said: "Your son is fine, he's in heaven, don't worry about his 14 years, Luigino is in heaven" (he also knew the name)
since then she has become a spiritual daughter, she has confessed over 60 times as a Padre Pio. I know it's hard to explain but Padre Pio was really something inexplicable because he read people's hearts.

About 25-30 years ago I got to know an elderly priest friend of one of my uncles pretty well and one day he brought up Padre Pio. I knew a little about Padre Pio so I was interested in what he had to say about the man.
He told me he had be stationed in Rome for a period of time not too long after being Ordained.
He told me that he and another young priest took a trip from Rome to San Giovanni Rotunda and hoped to be able go to one of Padre Pio's private masses.
He said that he and the other young priest were told to be ready for mass the next morning because they were going to be serving for Padre Pio.
I asked him if he had witnessed anything and he could barely speak when trying to answer my question.

This priest told me he saw the wounds on Padre Pio's hands open wide enough during Consecration that he could see through the wounds. He said Padre Pio suffered tremendously during Christ's passion.

The priest passed away in the early 2000's. I don't remember what year the priest told me about Padre Pio and what he witnessed, but it was around 1995 - 1998. I asked my uncle why he hadn't told me about this before and he said it was the first time he heard it.

I'm aware of the fact people make up stories, but this man is not one of them. This priest (Monseigneur) saw something he believed to be supernatural straight from God. He believed he witnessed the spilling of Jesus Christ's blood, his pain and agony when having stakes driven through his flesh/bones, and the opening of the wounds so that all present could see.

He knew this and shared with him, to remind him of their time together, that every moment is precious. What a weight to bear knowing how long you have and your purpose. Seems he confided in him this way as he is human and this is his friend who he needed to confide in as he did feel fear and the weight of it all. Padre Pio was a human being we cannot forget. he learned and grew with the years, God prepares us one step at a time not all at once and with reason. This is where faith comes in..pushing on through fear and the unknown. Ascending and transcending through our closeness to God, our faith makes times of worry, fear and suffering brief and bearable as the indescribable profound joy that dedication and surrender..truly being a disciple to our Father and The son Jesus, Holy Mother and St. Joseph..a family which is our family as well. so so beautiful in the purest sense🙏🏼
