Cirrus SR22 Turbo Cleaning in Portland, OR

Hello plane lovers! Since you guys really enjoy the how-to wash content Aviana puts out, I will show you in greater detail the cleaning solutions and processes I do to wash a plane safely and effectively.

I worked on a beautiful red Cirrus in the Pacific Northwest, Portland, for intensive cleaning in this episode. Check out the step-by-step process and the "secret sauce" exhaust cleaner that works wonders!

Top points you will discover:

✔️ There are a gazillion choices for cleaning solutions in the market but choose the one that won't hurt you and your plane with harsh chemicals.

✔️If bugs don't come off of that first wipe, let your formula soak in and loosen them up. NEVER scrub the bugs, or else you'll get scratches on the applied layers. You can opt to use the citrus cleaner in a gentle but effective way.

✔️ Check out the secret sauce in effectively removing the lead buildup in planes; even the very thick areas behind the exhaust get cleaned fast.

✔️ Why a flagging technique helps avoid breaking antennas on the plane's underside. (Don't use a broom when cleaning!)

✔️ Use a fully adjustable inclining creeper to make cleaning the dirtier parts of the plane easier.

I know the audio is not the greatest - thanks for sticking with it. I think it was worth publishing even with bad audio!

Is the secret sauce available for purchase?

Thank you for the video! Now once you've cleaned the lead from the underside, what do you do with the rags? Do you just chuck them? I can't imagine it's safe to wash and reuse them.

Great info, thanks for being more informative on the products, I have watched all your videos, this one gives a lot more detail in one video step.
I recently did a Cirrus it was not as clean as yours, the whole underneath was covered in oil + it was 19 years old. It ended up looking good, did not use any ceramic, I used Turtle Wax Graphene flex, cause Pan the organiser recommended it. It should last a few months.
Cost $70.00 AUD (= $52.0 USD) here because of the "Australia tax" that's when imported products cost a lot more than in the home country because they know we will pay the price.

It took along time to complete, we got the spats repaired / repainted and new decals on the sides. I had to use an eraser wheel to remove a lot it, they were baked on, don't want to do that again in a hurry. Got to get me some W5 and no rinse. Don't worry about the bad audio, if you are keen get a wireless mic clipped on to your shirt.

Any chance you can tell us where to get the LEAD removal from, that would be a huge help, I highly doubt Cirrus will tell us

Hello, I have an opportunity to clean a plane for a client this will be a trial run for us. I’m in Texas and the client is looking for basic cleaning services. I don’t know what to charge the client, could you please give me some advice on how much to charge?

How did you get started detailing aircraft? You seem extremely knowledgeable on the subject.

The plane already looked pristine when you started. How would you go about washing/cleaning a filthy one?

About how many rages did you use on this plane?

Two questions: Do these cleaning agents work on canvas covered aircraft, such as a Boeing Stearman or Piper Cub and can the canvas be ceramic coated?

Talked to Cirrus during delivery and they specifically stated that ceramic coating was not recommended as it could interfere with the function of static wicks.

Whats your secret sauce for the lead removal? Is it available on Amazon or a store?

Really, really nice video. I can probably count on my thumbs the number of YT videos I've commented on, for whatever that's worth. Given the length, I played it at 1.25x speed, but you did a great job being thorough describing and demonstrating the process and the reason for your process. The following tips are generic and hopefully are helpful for your consideration, but again, well done, sir!

2. for any specific details you present, a text screen would be a nice addition. This is especially good during any summary (which, btw, kudos to you for having one!). E.g., you only provided bits like dilution ratios verbally.
3. you probably figured out the audio issue. I've noticed with GoPros, if you turn on the external mic *after* you turned on the GoPro, the GoPro will use it's built-in mic and ignore the external one. In your sections with the "lousy" audio, it was clear your camera was using its mic and not your clip on. Maybe you're not even using a GoPro, and like I said, you prob figured out your issue anyway...
