Chris do keep creating very technical videos I understand the need sometimes to chase the "popular" keywords and topics to try increase sub and view counts (even I have done it) but keeping the technical aspect is very important giving good different content which others look for and when actually reaching out later for partnerships and sponsorships. Good thing the big brands aren't so shallow and look at view counts only, they do look into the videos and also word of mouth on the content of the videos, this is speaking from my own experience. Keep making videos mate =).

Great video, I like the insight you gave for the first year. The thing I'm trying to figure out is topics to cover that are more relevant. I think that's where I get stuck and where I need to improve most. I am getting better at thumbnails and editing, I'm confident that they will continue to get better. The topics to cover is my next thing to tackle. What kind of resources do you use for figuring out topics?
