Screwing Anthony out of his royalties is unforgiveable.

So many dysfunctional bands. Just another reason why I always liked Rush. They were genuine friends and never burdened their fans with personal drama.

Without Anthony's back up vocals, Van Halen would of never made the billboard charts that required a strong harmony to Roth's slapstick singing style "

Van Halen was a team. An absolute unit. But after Eddie became a "god", it went to his head. Coke and alcohol destroyed Eddie.

I saw Van Halen on Mike's last tour, before they replaced him. Eddie looked like a drunken skeleton on stage and played like shit. Mike wasn't the problem.

Mike's vocal harmonies & bass in classic VH 1978 to 1984 are part of the signature sound of the greatest American original hard rock band that ever existed kids!

Outside of the guitar playing nobody has anything good to say about Edward.

Very sad….the more you hear about the Van Halen story, the more you feel Eddie, as great as he was, was the problem the entire time.

Michael didn't leave Van Halen. Van Halen left Michael

Boy, between Michael Anthony and John Paul Jones, those great bass players got no respect! I am so happy that both of these gentlemen kept their cool and love of music. They are both legends in the music industry.

If Michael was as bad as Eddie said, Ted Templeton would’ve never allowed him to work on Van Halen 1

Eddie and Alex ran Van Halen. It wasn't a band but their project. Everyone else were treated as disposable. How Eddie treated Mike was reprehensable. Mike is the kind of guy that would give you the shirt off of his back. He's a real humble and good natured guy.

Michael Anthony’s back up vocals were a vital part of Van Halen’s signature earlier sound. The original line up is what put them on the map (not Sammy). As big as David Lee Roth’s ego is they never would have been as popular with him. He was an incredible front man. The same goes, In a subtler way, for Michael Anthony. His presence, aside from his musical talents, were a counter balance to Eddie and David’s huge egos. He was a grounding force in the band. He should have been treated with more respect.

I think Eddie was jealous because Michael could actually sing! 😅

His bass playing and brilliant backing vocals were integral to the band's initial success.

I remember Michael saying in an interview that he only found out that he had been fired from VH when he heard or read a news story that said he had been replaced by Wolfgang. I honestly think part of it was that Michael remained friends with Sammy Hagar after Hagar's falling out with VH.

They were never the same without Michael.

I love Michael Anthony's bass, esp on the early albums when Eddie would take a solo, and the bass underneath would provide the perfect foundation - there was never a drop off or a big need for overdubbed rhythm guitar for Eddie to solo over, Michael's tone, attack and feel were perfect .. and his vocals were as recognizable to the VH sound as Eddie's guitar .. When someone attains the level of fame and respect that Eddie did, it is because of the people around him, and he should have thanked Michael each and every day for being an integral part of the beast that was Van Halen

Eddie sounded like a real a-hole. Anyone who knows about his relationships with endorsements will say the same. That's ego, drugs and alcohol for ya, folks! Obviously the others, esp Al had his back, bc they know without Eddie, that band was nothing. But, the final FU of not having Michael in the Roth reunion was horse-sht. Michael should write a tell all book about the whole thing, but he's better than that. My Chicago boy is always tough and will always pull through!!
