Blossom Dearie's take on "Tea For Two" is flawless, and enthralling. She slows the commonly sped-up tempo down and turns it into a tranquil ballad reeking of love, romance, and happiness. All right(s) to 1958, 1992 The Verve Music Group, a Division of UMG/Universal Recordings, Inc.

Allowing the writer's lyrics to shine through... that was Blossom Dearie, one of the greatest American vocalists, ever. They should make a movie about her.

Blossom Dearie is awesome! I had the good fortune of seeing her live in NY a few years before she passed. What a night it was. I have never seen any performer more comfortable and personable with their audience. Love her version of this classic.

[LYRICS]
I'm discontented
With homes that are rented
So I have invented my own
Darling this place is
A lover's oasis
Where life's weary chase is unknown
Far from the cry of the city
Where flowers pretty
Caress the streams
Cozy to hide in,
To live side by side in
Don't let it abide in my dreams
Picture me upon your knee
With tea for two, and two for tea
Me for you, and you for me
Alone
Nobody near us
To see us or hear us
No friends or relations
On weekend vacations
We won't have it known
That we own
A telephone
Day will break
And you'll awake
And I will bake
A sugar cake
For you to take
For all the boys to see
We will raise a family
A boy for you and a girl for me
Can't you see
How happy we would be

This is my favorite love song. It has a timeless quality. Since it was composed by Mr. Yeoman back in 1925 for the Broadway musical "No, No Nanette!", it has probably been sung more often than almost any other love song of the 20th century. I love this beautiful rendition!

I fell in love with Blossom Dearie as a child listening to School House Rock. As an adult I appreciate her masterful singing style.

voice like butter. Could listen to this all day. I've only ever heard the Doris Day version that is okay but this just, completely tops it. So smooth and easy. I love it

She had such a sweet voice even in her older age. Her songs are still listened to today.
