AWS re:Invent 2022 - Build cross-platform interactive polls with .NET and MQTT (BOA319)

At re:Invent 2021, our team started a spontaneous poll of favorite programming languages or AWS services at the Developer Lounge, and attendees handwrote their choices. This year, we built a real-time cross-platform kiosk application to support voting for your favorites, give fun facts, and suggest sessions. In this chalk talk, discover how we built this application using the .NET Foundation MQTTnet library to interact with AWS IoT Core. Learn how the application is designed to store state in the cloud to solve for intermittent connection challenges and how it is set up to process messages with AWS Lambda and store the data using Amazon Aurora Serverless.
