A band called AC/DC made a fine cover of this melody.

Teenagers of the Renaissance would have been drawn to this, and no doubt their parents would have objected to the volume at which it was played.

Observing the bard "riff" out on his lute was quite the spectacle, the way his fingers plucked so quickly made my pantaloons sodden

I saw them live at King Arthur's wedding in Camelot. A really spectacular performance.

Thunder
Thunder
Thunder
Thunder
Thunder
Thunder Thunder Thunder
Thunder Thunder
Me was halted in midst of a caravan track
Me eyes wandered round and me wisdom doth tell,
Thus certainty of nay turn back
Me head be scurried and me quest shall what me understake?
Aye me be certain there be nay help, nay help from thee
Sounds of thee drums, beating in me heart
The thunder of weaponry tore me apart
Thee hast been of certain struck of thunder
Travelled yonder down the fairway
Beggard the top, we hit the village
We parlayed through Texas
Yar, Texas and we enjoyed amusing lively pleasentries
We mingled with some lass
Some maidens of dance whom traded enjoyable tidings
Broke all the rules of decree, played all the fools
Yar, yar - they were of certain wit destruction
Me was buckling at me knees
Can me please encore over and over?
Yes, the maidens were kind in generosity
Thee has retained struck of thunder
Yar, yar yar- struck of thunder
Aye - struck of thunder
Oye
Me was buckling at me knees
Can me please encore over and over?
Yar
Struck of thunder, struck of thunder
Yar, yar, yar - struck of thunder
Struck of thunder - yar, yar yar
Yar, it be pleasent and splendid
We be abidng fine
Yar, it be pleasent and splendid
We be abiding fine
Struck of thunder, yar yar yar
Struck of thunder, struck of thunder, struck of thunder
Whoa, small child,
Whoa, small child,
Thee hast retained struck of thuinder, struck of thunder
Struck of thunder
Thee hast retained struck of thunder

I don't often listen to AC/DC, but when I do so do the neighboring fiefdoms.

True story: My current D&D character is a dragonborn Bard named Thun'dah, which totally inspired by Thunderstruck. Now that I've discovered this, I play it whenever we roll for initiative as his "battle theme" to give others bardic inspiration.

First the cellos now this.. We're moving farther and farther back in time. What else can come? A bone instrument cover from the stone age?
