I saw one of these at an air show in Fort Worth, Texas. The thing flew down the runway in front of the crowd at then pulled almost straight up. While it was flying upwards, it was doing something I can only describe as moving like a snake. or making small S like turns as it flew upwards.
The B-52 came a few minutes later but if couldn't fly at the angle of the Vulcan nor do the snake thing.
I was young and disappointed. Years later I learned what the BUF actually did and how it was used which changed my opinion of it.
I remember that little trip the Vulcan took to the Falkland's and the way they pull off that raid. Most impressive!
