Grey Junglefowl ♂

In addition to The Red Junglefowl, this is another wild form of chickens in India. There it is widespread and one of the wild ancestors from which the domestic chickens emerged. For example, one of the genes of the Grey Junglefowl is responsible for the yellow leg color of the domestic chickens.

Neben dem Bankivahuhn ist dies eine weitere Wildform von Hühnern in Indien. Dort ist die Art weit verbreitet und einer der wilden Vorfahren, aus denen die Haushühner hervorgegangen sind. Z.B. ist eins der Gene des Sonnerathuhns für die gelbe Beinfarbe der Haushühner verantwortlich.
