Ive never heard it explained this way.
Why is feeling mad or sad always sincere. But the feeling of happiness or feeling good isn't always sincere. Sometimes even feeling guilty for trying to feel positive for no reason... like that's why when things go wrong it's so easy to sprial down because the upset emotion is sincere but trying to fake your way to an elevated state just doesn't work as well
