Mike, nice video. Time will validate your assumptions. If I were ordering a Z06, nothing would be off the table. This assumes I had the $$ to do this. I'm living vicariously through your videos. Keep them coming.

Chevy did it the right way this time. They decided to only do the carbon fiber steering wheel with 3LZ only, which to me is one of those things that i need to have on my Z06, so unfortunately mine will be a 3LZ for the factory carbon fiber wheel and carbon paddles. It also lets you select the full carbon level 2 package only in 3LZ so i think just in those two options people will end up going with the 3LZ over the 2LZ.

If you want GT2 seats then upgrading to 3LT is only $3115 and you get Napa leather (it's not even certain that Mulan leather is actually leather) and well worth it. Also you get leather stitched steering wheel center and you get the additional interior color options and the option for two tone seats. I totally disagree with you on the 3LT/LZ being not needed.

Of course if you want the interior carbon fiber package you will have to have the 3LZ

Have seen a video of a guy driving the natural color on the dashboard and it causes way too much reflection off the windshield for my liking

I wouldn’t buy an expensive car like a Vette based on “need”. Why sacrifice quality of leather and the other 3LZ upgrades over $5k when you are already spending over $100k. Every Vette buyer who can financially afford to equip this car to the max will do so based on “want”, not “need”. Further, when the next must have C9 comes out and you want that, you won’t “need” it but you’ll certainly recover the $5k in sale or trade value over the less expensive 2LZ. When I write my check for the Z06 (hoping for an allocation since I don’t get special treatment) it’ll be fully loaded with the Z07 package that I don’t “need”, but certainly “want” to max my Corvette experience. Money is nothing more than a bank account number, while a fully configured Z06/07 3LZ is the ultimate tangible touch and feel driving experience. I’ve had many Corvettes over my 77 years and not one has ever been based on “need”. Buy the fully loaded car and the hell with “need” over $5k. Don’t get sucked in by saving a few bucks that you’ll regret later.

Go all the way if you can. 3lz leather is alot better, and thats what you are paying for. The carbon wheel comes only in 3lz, GM video said. The suede on the A and B peelers is exotic, especially in light colors you can see. After seeing the 3lz interior in the yellow Z, how can you not go all the way, if you can? 🤷🏾‍♂️

For me the HTC option is a must. It’s way more exotic looking and I’m not a big convertible fan but this car looks way better this way. You can have all the carbon fiber BS. A 2LZ interior is also all you need if you max out the Z06 in options especially with the Z07 option your looking at over $150K. I always go black interior because it hides stains and looks cleaner over time. I also always go black paint color but it is a headache keeping it clean.

not getting the zo7 package, I wont need it. I am going with the base zo6 but with the high wing I must need that.

Agree with the 2LZ interior. My C8 HTC is scheduled to be built the week of Feb. 14 dealer say I can order my ZO6 as soon as they can place an order.
