Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs is the movie that made Disney what it was but it looks like the live action remake will be one of their lower points. They tried to placate both their fans and their critics, resulting in a mess of a movie.

Disney is so ashamed of the old movies that they forget those movies are the reason their company exists.

That dress was unforgivably awful. I've seen comments mention that it was done on purpose so that the dolls and other merchandise being sold wouldn't have complex dresses/materials/colors. Therefore, they'd be cheaper to make. And yes, there is merchandise for this film. Disney loves to put the cart before the horse.

Also, I had a better Snow White dress from Walmart in 2005. Let that sink in.

Current Disney remakes are written by childish adults from Hollywood who are always ashamed of embracing animation for fun and creative storytelling. They are too afraid of being seen as "infantile" by their peers that they try too hard to act mature, yet only show how little they grew up since middle school. Puss in Boots 2 dared to be silly and childish yet put true effort into creating a good story, and everyone loved it for that, even adults were surprised by the quality. Unlucky for us, Disney is far too gone into trying to appeal to the "mature" side yet cannot let go of the family-friendly roots.

Why doesn't Disney just release digitally touched-up remasters of the original movies? I don't know much about film costs, but it can't be more expensive than whole remakes done in live action or, in the case of Lion King, CGI, can it?

It's hilarious that Disney wants nothing to do with this movie anymore more than everyone else. They just want to release it, sweep it under the rug, and move on to Lilo and Stitch; they literally just want people to consume product, and get excited for next product

I did re-watch the opening scene. I was shocked when I realized that snow white. Isn't sitting around waiting to fall in love. With the prince being a stalker jumping over the wall to hit on Snow White.

Snow White is singing about wanting the person she loves. (Present tense.) To find her today. With the prince after hearing that she is waiting for him to find her today joining in and telling her how much he loved her. In a very modern sense. The song is I wish my boyfriend will see me today and flirt with me.

So no he was not a stalker but her current boyfriend that gets established right off the bat. Plus they really made the evil queen an sinister figure. With it being stated that every day the queen asks the mirror the same question every day. With every day the mirror replies she is the fairest, Snow white gets spared another day. When the Mirror answers Snow White, that was the moment the Queen wanted Snow White dead.

It's ironic that they say they'll not going to have the prince to save Snow White and yet in the remake Snow White was saved by the thief and they got married and the thief became the prince 🤴. So technically, she's still saved by the prince.

I don’t think the dress is better than the one in the remake of Beauty And The Beast. Even though I don’t like Belle’s dress in the remake, at least it makes sense that it would look the way it does because of the way the character of Belle was written. She’s supposed to be ahead of her time.

When it comes to Snow White, there’s nothing that makes sense with that dress. To me, it just looks like she wears that outfit because we have to remind the audience of the one from the animated film.

Also, both Naomi Scott and Emma Watson have stated numerous times that they both adored their respective characters from the animated films. The same cannot be said when it comes to Rachel Zegler.

I don’t know if it’s executives or the creative teams, but after so many flops, including their 100th anniversary special, they need to take a serious look at who they should fire or ignore for future projects. This is just sad at this point

Mirror Mirror is an entertaining take on the original Snow White story (not based on the Disney version), it's both comedic and has soul, also has real actors with dwarfism not CGI abominations, give it a watch.

Also it might be the case Disney stole the bandits idea from it.
