Nice, I've always needed gamepad support in the browser. /s
I get adding cool stuff like this, but... there are dozens of things that the majority of Devs have been requesting for 20years.
Like native SPA support or built-in tabs. There was the details element... which was never fully supported, but now that IE is dead we could probably use it again... but oh wait the css for that is from the 90s, so we need 6 lines of boilerplate bs so it doesn't look like windows 95.
Then you also have the document.getElementById / document.querySelector(). We have heard dozens of times that JS is adding short hand to reduce file size... when there should be a shorthand for document ~.query() or ~.body since you have to write it a thousand times it could cut projects by 20%. Yeah, we could make our own... but everyone would use something else, then you have issues with libraries, frame works and so on.

There are a dozen or so tools that devs have been begging for, but we keep getting this random stuff. While that stuff is awesome and can be useful, it's typically not as popular. I think it is time for some basics... If we don't have a solid foundation... we will start to crumble. Which is probably why the web is such a cluster ____ right now.
