Very Cool TW. Way to stay on top of current topics and their relevance to controls industry.

For PLC programming no ChatGPT
However, It will automate simple functions in the Windows OS by writing a valid PowerShell script.

And it is pretty good a Python as well.

Saved me some time.

Also, you can get it to write python code to have the python code write simple logic.
That of course is defeating the purpose of using ChatGPT

Still appreciate your video, thanks Tim

New here in the world of PLC. Could you tell me what software you are using here, please?

Hello, I like your videos, they are very good.

Hello, I like your videos, they are very good.

I have a question.

Is there a bit that is activated when there is a master-slave ethernet connection (bit=1) and that is deactivated (bit=0) when the connection is lost? in Studio 5000 using controllogix.

Help me please.

I have a question. On a Kinetix 5700. If the safety torque off, STO, input block is not being used (hard wired) and no jumpers are installed. Where would the safety torque off bit on the plc be getting its feed back from?

Hey Tim,

I absolutely love ChatGPT so far as a learning tutor, it's actually a fantastic way to learn about programming but I think it goes without saying that you have to use it in a way that actually promotes learning, not as a way to merely get to a solution. Another reason I love ChatGPT is that it doesn't have emotional biases, get bored, have to go to the bathroom, take breaks, etc.. etc.. which a normal tutor would. I found prompting the AI is also extremely helpful, just putting in queries cold like you've been doing here typically don't provide the best results. Try asking the AI to assume it's a skilled educator on certain topics, ask it construct courses on topics you want to learn and then drill down into the topic structures really deep, this has worked for me.

Can you please ask it where Jimmy Hoffa is buried?

I would call your local ChatGPT guy to come out and assist. Based on what you pay for ChatGPT that would be the least he could do. Heck, he might even bring some lunch and a coffee mug to give you. Just think, some Exec VP at some big company is already dreaming about replacing all his support people with just ChatGPT sessions. And then just wait until the CEO finds out that ChatGPT can replace that Exec VP. Soon ChatGPT will be talking to ChatGPT and there is no need for us. It's all ball bearings these days.

If this ChatGPT is that effective, then PLC programmers are gonna be unemployed very soon, I believe.

Very entertaining. Sad part is things like this are so true. If students pay attention their training they will find the answer. Hard to get the phones out of their hands when looking for a solution.
