I love that last shaping tip!! My steps are: dissolving paint in a small amount of regular cooking oil, wiping with a paper towel, then getting that oil off with Dawn liquid soap and water using a sponge.That works well for me, and I don't need to use the other solvents. I will definitely try your last tip for shaping the brush (!) and thanks for all of your tips about painting. They are super useful! I have learned a lot from you!

There's a medium that makes oil paints water soluble, it's called schmincke medium w. Dip your brush into the medium and then wash your brush with water.

Thank you for being the only person to say put a glove on if you're using the palm of your hand to clean your brushes. I ended up with cracks and damaged skin on my palm by not using a glove. You can also gently use the side of the sink...

Good method but I'm too lazy for this amount of work. I just use lineseed oil, dip and paper towel to take most of the paint and then I leave them submerged in linseed oil until I want to paint again. When they get damaged I just buy new ones. It really helped me paint more often and dont dread the work afterwards. Cheers
