Dr. Evelyne Bourdua-Roy and Dr. Hala Lahlou are both family physicians based in Montreal, Canada.

Dr. Bourdua-Roy came in contact with low carb when she was on maternity leave, and thought that it could be great for her professional practice. After having gone through training with Dr. Jason Fung and Megan Ramos, she set up her own LCHF clinic, 'Clinique Reversa' which launched in February 2017.

Clinique Reversa is led by a multidisciplinary team dedicated to helping patients reverse their chronic diseases associated with lifestyle, such a type 2 diabetes, metabolic syndrome, hypertension, obesity, chronic fatigue and chronic pain. Dr. Bourdua-Roy is currently working towards her certification in Obesity Medicine with the American Board of Obesity Medicine.

Dr. Hala Lahlou is a family physician, and a lecturer working at the Verdun Family Medicine Teaching Unit, in Montreal, Quebec. Other than her involvement in teaching, family practice, and palliative care, she advocates for primary prevention through a healthy lifestyle focused on a whole food, low carbohydrate diet, in conjunction with exercise and meditation.

Dr. Lahlou personally adopted an LCHF lifestyle in 2016, and has been counselling patients interested in adopting LCHF and ketogenic diets ever since, helping them to achieve health and improve chronic nutritional diseases.

I have noticed the relief of a almost trivial but annoying chronic pain when I stick to my low carb diet. I am 74 yo and have had a osteoarthritis affected great toe for over 30 years. The pain was variable, but sometimes almost disabling. I walk at least 4 miles at least 5 days a week - the pain decreases after I get started. When I started LCHF 3 years ago, the chronicity of the pain decreased and was often absent. I have noted that when I "holiday" from LCHC due to travel or social situations (or weak will), the pain returns. Once I realized the relationship, I have increased motivation to stick with the program. Thank you for an excellent presentation.

I have been on low carb diet for 3 weeks, now. Overweight, not obese. Have had chronic back pain due to repetitive motion at work. Was prescribed muscle relaxers and ibuprofen. The meds hardly helped. My pain levels have started subsiding within the 1st two weeks of the diet. I haven't taken meds in two weeks. Not pain free yet, but hopeful this will continue to improve.
I will implement some of your recommendations. Thank you for confirming what I've been experiencing. Great presentation!

a year ago I couldnt walk without pain in my ankles, knees, hips. Now I have a very active job and lifestyle and I love to run and ride a bike.. keto makes me feel physically blissful and better than i was when i was 18.

Thank you doctors for this valuable information. I am now 2 months on keto and my wife joined me last month. I suffer from mold induced CFS and my wife has fibro with chronic pain. We will apply this info and share with our primary medical providers. Hello from Kansas City!

I had pain from plantar fasciitis, knee, hip, and back pain. (multiple bulging discs ) My pain decreased dramatically within the first week of a ketogenic diet. I was amazed !!!
