Epic released the Game Animation Sample which is a cutting edge Motion Matching Locomotion System but it lacks a Layering System to be used with Equipment and Weapons. So I deciced to extract that system from ALSV4 and add it to the Sample project.

Damn, this is great! I'm mostly working with characters and animations, but I never have enough time to study ALS and method in Anim Sample Project is definitely not for our studio scale. But this approach is just a right thing for me - I can just don't use the motion matching and then the scale is just right.
Also + to split one anim sequence with different poses to separate one, I too like this approach more. Good luck! 💫

Great stuff i highly highly highly highly recommend moving to the Refactored version of ALS its still being updated and managed and it has a much more optimized setup out of the box, some of the c++ stuff might give some trouble, but if you or anyone else plans to use this setup for an actual game is a 100% requirement for anything to scale well.

However, if not, I may end up mixing the two myself at some point once i've finished all my custom locomotion setup on top of als as is and I'd happily share it when the time comes. That said, i still can't recommend the shift enough because the two mixed together might be the best locomotion setup possible with so little setup.

This is so good, I'd love to do this but way beyond my knowledge. I really hope you do a tutorial or a breakdown of how you do this

Thank you Polygon Hive. I hope you can add a feature to expand the ability to climb non-standard obstacles, which allows users to perform climbing or flipping actions on some models in the scene, and I also hope to add a foot ik so that the character can walk on stairs or slopes without any hanging problems
