Показать описание
Code P306 and P316 both indicate a misfire on cylinder number six. P300 is misfire on unknown cylinder. Car missed and started running very rough. I replaced the coil on plug (COP) and all is fixed. Complete instructions for a Ford Lincoln Mercury V8 found on Crown Victoria, Grand Marquis, Town Car, Mustang, Explorer 4.6L and 5.4L truck. See my OBD2 code scanner review for more info on scanning and erasing codes to clear check engine light (MIL). Codes P0300, P0301, P0302, P0303, P0304, P0305, P0307 or P0308 are similar fixes just different cylinder. Same goes for OBDII codes P0310, P0311, P0312, P0313, P0314, P0315, P0317 and P0318.

Thanks for posting this video.  My check engine light came on  and my Grand Marquis started running poorly.  I followed your instructions step by step and now my car is back to normal.

What a helpful video. I gave my 2002 Chevy Suburban 1500 4x4 a full tune up, changed all the spark plugs and wires with recommended parts but cylinder # 6 was still misfiring. I just installed a new Duralast ignition coil on cylinder # 6, took it for a ride on the highway and so far so good. Thanks for the taking the time to help others.

I love you and you did good.  I had a 308 code and a 316 code this morning on my 02 f150  and I traced it down to the coil on number 8.  Then I erased my codes and drive it and no codes returned and the engine no longer has a miss

thanks very much for the video i am having the same check engine light codes that just started today but the studdering i also have had for quite a while right around 45 to 50 so im going to go ahead and try to fix it next weekend

of course the check engine light is off. you just cleared codes. it wouldnt come back on until youve driven it a bit. however the p0316 code would show up almost immediatly if the problem still existed. all in all a good video. thanks for posting it

You should have diagnosed that oil leak on the coil boot causing the spark to ground out through the boot. In most cases oil on top of a spark plug but not on the tip indicates a bad calve cover gasket.

Fluid in the spark plug chamber can cause the coil/ plug to not fire. I’ve had to clean mine out a few times, cleaned up plug & coil, applied di-electric grease on each end of the spring.
Do a resistance test on the coil, and test for 12V with engine running. Chances are you won’t need to pop for a coil.
(The P0306 was contributing to P0316, due to the misfire on startup)

On the ford v8s it is generally the spring in the boot that goes bad, not the coil, it fixes with the coil because it comes with a new boot and spring, always do boots and springs before even one coil

Have a 2008 Avalanche giving me a PO306 code...
Only 46k on it.. mechanic replace plug which was black. Coil was ok, compression ok, injector was ok...
He is telling me top half needs to come off and look at ALL the lifters... 2k to 3k of work.

Any suggestions..

You have to drive the vehicle for 50 miles after you erase it to give the computer time to check the system. You don't recheck seconds later! lmao

What could it mean if my spark plugs and coils were replaced on my 2008 dodge charger 3.5 and the code P0306 still is popping up

You are awesome for making this video! Ive been dreading taking in our '08 mercury mountaineer 4.0L and weve been pulling a code p0316 a few months after we changed the plugs, the engine idles very rough on idle so a misfire is definite. we havent had a check engine light EVER but I did buy an obd2 machine to check all of our computer systems and every time it shows the code so no it doesnt show up immediately even after 200 miles of driving on the highway

What about the oil on the plug? Was that anything to worry about? I have the same issue

The po316 can happen when gas has changed from winter blend to summer blend of gas. And vs versa, that’s why it was

My 03 CVPI has an engine miss when I put in park with my foot on the brake, & during light acceleration. Seems to run smooth at idle, but I have no check engine light. I just replaced fuel filter just for the hell of it, but no difference in running. I'm hoping its one of the coil packs !

Can't believe you didn't focus on all that oil on the plug.

I've taken my Ford edge 2018 to two mechanics..both changed the ignition coils, spark plugs. But I'm still getting the codes.
