Carragher in the final against Milan was immense. Gerrard also played right back in the final. Few can lead a team like Gerrard, the man was all heart. He made mistakes that cost his club and country in his career, but that is because he wanted it all on his shoulders. He took pride in that responsibility and always wanted the ball all the time all over the pitch. So many match winning moments and goals. He has the clutch gene like few other footballers in history. In the West Ham final he was cramping and could barely run, then hit that missile from 35 yards on the volley to equalize in literally the 90th minute. Stuff of dreams.

When they showed him wearing that shirt early in the match I was grinning, and thought we had a chance. The boys played like warriors that night. Allison was an unsung hero.
