I LOVE the BTAS episode in which Jonah Hex thwarts Ra's al Ghul's evil plans during the 19th century. Am I the only one who finds it pretty badass that Hex was Ra's nemesis before Batman?

"Any last words, Hex?"
"Yes, but it would not be polite of me to pronounce them in front of a lady..."

It's pretty sad that Hex is already long dead in DC's main timeline, being his death at the age of 70 one of the most emotional in comic book history. He was even revived as a Black Lantern zombie during Blackest Night.

*Fun fact:* In the Elseworld "Generations" Trilogy, Jonah Hex has a classic wild-west rivalry with a young Jonathan Kent, with everything culminating in a gun duel in which Martha is accidentally shot and rendered sterile.

What happened to your face?

"toothpick slipped"
"cut myself shaving"

Let's be honest, guys. The DC Showcase short film starring Hex, voiced by Thomas Janes, was INFINITELY better than the live-action movie

Interestingly, in the 80s Jonah Hex ended up in the 21st century and became the warrior of a post-apocalyptic future, imitating the style of Mad Max. Sadly, this direction given to the character was a flop in the United States, but considered a comic book masterpiece in Western Europe and Japan, anyway

I loved this character when I saw him in Batman brave and the bold as a kid. Probably the only other relatable character next to Batman and wild cat.

One of my favourite comics as a kid in the eighties! I also loved Warlord and Wild Dog too at the time! Oh yeah. The Human Fly too!

I first remember seeing him in Batman the brave and the bold, thinking he was two face at first

As a kid I used to read my dad's collection of Jonah Hex comics, in secret of course because dad said that they were a bit too violent for a 10 year old me. Him, Namor and Tex Willer were my favorites back then. It's honestly surprising to find out that he's part of a bigger universe!

Envision a character who embodies a shadowy, more sinister version of Captain Jack Sparrow, but he’s not a pirate. Picture his malevolent chuckle echoing through the air as he revels in the spoils of his money gains, all while maintaining an aloofness that keeps him at arm's length from the poor people he helps. There exists a singular female in his life, who manages to pierce his hardened exterior, revealing a flicker of vulnerability that he rarely shows to anyone else. If this character is portrayed with the nuance and depth I envision, the result could be highly remarkable for sure. He also gives me an Assassin’s Creed vibe, if he wears the same AC iconic clothings and joins them, it’ll look natural.

Nice character. I've always imagined someone like Constantine but in the old days. Found 'im.
