MTG - Alliances VS Onslaught! Which Booster Pack Is Better? Crack & Contrast! Magic: The Gathering

Nostalgia runs rampant as I crack open a pack of Alliances in hopes of finding a Force of WIll. Will I get better value than my pack of Onslaught, which has the chance of containing one of five different, never again reprinted, fetch lands?

I really want them to reprint the Onslaught fetches.

you should do a vlog type video talking about why you quit magic. I'd be interested to hear.

Alliances is better than all other packs because Storm Crow.

I remember opening a lot of Onslaught boosters as a kid at the time I played a lot with my friends in school. None of all the kids tought that the fetch lands are good, they were the little plus to get even at a trade. I once got a Avatar of Woe and two fetches for a Cloudscraper and the Avatar was the big thing for me...

I'm excited to see that you made a whole Video out of 2 boosterpacks of Magic. I think i will use this cool background music someday. Keep up the great vids, dude!

I got a Force of Will in a booster when Alliances came out and said 'Man, this card sucks!  You've got to pay five mana or lose one life and exile a card!'.  Thankfully, I didn't trade it or sell it right away.  I did sell it many years later, though.  I don't remember how much I got for it, but it sure as hell wasn't 90$.  I thought Magic would be dead by now, instead the cost of cards has shot up at an insane level.  I remember when dual lands were $20-$30.  We thought that was a lot back then.  I had a set of Underground Seas I sold, too.  It kind of makes my stomach turn.

"Fetch lands that have not yet been reprinted" If only the professor knew what was coming

There's nothing quite like the dread and sadness that comes with disappointing pulls in old booster packs.

The professor really has been proving for years why you should buy singles instead of cracking packs. Unless you just enjoy opening packs : )

I must have at least a dozen Force of Wills. I opened up around three boxes back when the set came out, and never got rid of any of my cards.
Still have two unopened boxes of Alliances in storage. Wonder how much those are going for now?

Lol he got arcane denied to that force of will.... The only thing that would make it more perfect is if he got one!

In retrospect...it is unfair that Alliance boosters and boxes are so expensive. There is virtually nothing of value in the set. The price does not seem to match the card value.

wouldn't a more appropriate test be opening X Alliances boosters where X is the largest possible X such that X*booster cost < FoW cost?

and similarly for the fetches?

What was it about that set that led to you quitting Magic?

lol... had been meaning to go to my local card shop to sell my fetch lands, but keep on forgetting cause my closest card shop is like 20 min away (yes that's relatively close to some people, but when I was a kid I use to live right next to a card shop).
