In this tutorial, I will show you How to Merge Multiple MP3 Audio Files in Audacity. The first thing you need to do is ensure that you’ve downloaded and installed the LAME MP3 Encoder. This encoder is required in order to export audio in MP3 format. You can check the separate tutorial I’ve created on how to install the LAME MP3 Encoder (see link below).

If you want to combine several audio tracks into one single MP3, you can import them into Audacity and then export them into a merged MP3 file. To do so:

(1) go to the FILE menu, and select IMPORT and then choose AUDIO;

(2) next, choose the audio files that you want to merge (you can use the SHIFT or CTRL keys to highlight several files at a time);

(3) all the MP3 files will be imported on separate audio tracks in Audacity;

(4) next, go to the EDIT menu, and choose SELECT and ALL in order to select all the tracks;

(5) next, go to the TRACKS menu and choose ALIGN TRACKS, and ALIGN END TO END;

(6) finally, go back to the TRACKS menu and this time choose MIX & RENDER which will merge all the tracks into one single track.

Once you do so, you can export the file into one single MP3 audio. I’ve created several other Audacity Tutorials on my YouTube channel and you can check the link below. Down below you will also find the download link for Audacity from the official website.

People of multiple forums told me this had to be done manually, track by track.
And here you are, proving them wrong. Thank you!

Thanks so much dude. You don't understand how much i appreciate this from you. My grandmother use to love reading books, but was diagnosed with a Myasthenia gravis which impaired her eye sight. She just sits depressingly at home in her chair not knowing what to do, especially now that my grandfather had passed on. I thought i would download her audio books to keep her busy. The problem was that the chapters were all broken up with many different chapters. With your help i was able to merge everything together. Your instructions were really excellent and simple for even and ape like me to understand. May God bless you and your family and make you successful in life.

Many youtube tutorials that show this procedure fail in comparison, cutting / pasting, etc. Mr. Godinho shows the simplest, quickest and most foolproof method. Kudos.

Just remember people, they will import in file name order, so if you are stiching together multiple tracks, make sure he file names are in the same order before importing

I subscribed so fast I broke my index finger. You know those "tutorials" with 14 minutes of garbage filler at the start? This is not that. This is pure, unadulterated helpful content. Took me 10 minutes to watch the video and then reproduce it. Kudos Anthony.

Much better than so many others, this is easy to follow without any rambling or skipping steps. Others take an extremely cumbersome and complex route to come to the same result, and they frequently skip crucial steps that will create issues. Great video!

Really a super help. As a linux user there is only one solution for sound. And that's Audacity. Big thanks.

Thanks! I am shamefully admitting I use Audacity for so many things and should know how to do this, but I didn't. I'm glad you posted this video as it was something I didn't know and I learned something new and useful.
