As a trucker who drives regionally, I have had t-Mobile Wi-Fi in my truck and it has never let me down. The only thing that they don’t tell you is that you do need to go home and turn that thing on at your residence once every 30 days. If you don’t do that, they will cancel that account permanently. So since I’m home every weekend, this little cylinder works like a charm at home as well as on the road. If it notices that you’re out of range, simply tap on the “ I’m here temporarily” icon, and it will switch to whatever local stations are in that area if you’re using YouTube TV or whatever. But make sure you take it home and turn it on at least once every 30 days.

Just get the Tmoble magenta plan for $50 (with auto pay), which comes unlimited 5g speed data. Then take that sim and put it in a mofi wifi router and connect your devices ... as far as tmoble knows you're using a cellphone. And you still have unlimited mobile internet

We got our t Mobile gateway at an RV show in my area in early 2023. They were there in 2024. They were actively promoting the home Internet for mobile use all over the country. I think their success caught up with them, and too much usage was overwhelming their towers.

I understand the need to restrict plans to be active in the home area, but it was nice to know that if you travel to a place with limited Internet that you could take your own. I would really love to know the reason why raising the price to over 3 times higher was needed.

For verizon, its cheaper to go into a walmart and buy a straight talk home internet box for $99 and buy the service cards while activating the service with a random available address in los angeles.

Thank you for the link
T-mobile really dropped the ball on this one they got greedy thinking they were the best to do it but now with customers scrambling other companies are getting a chance to shine I will personally cancel my t-mobile and get something else as expensive as theirs just out of spite 😂

Its been amazing to see how the options have changed over the years. When we were out in Kelton last fall. I had 26 devices connected to our starlink. Its been "suspended" since we moved back into our house last Nov. I didn't un suspend it when we went out to Kelton again a few weeks ago and all my grandkids were upset with me. I told them for a couple days they would survive without their tablets and phones. My plan is to fire it up again when we head to the Lake in a couple weeks as the cell service there is non exsistant. Safe travels Mullens Family.

They must have scrapped that idea quick. I’m currently streaming your video on my new t-mobile home plan that I set up 2 weeks ago. I am 50 miles away from home and it’s working perfectly. I was a new T-Mobile customer and yet was only offered one tier of service which was unlimited for $50 per month but also got it discounted to $45 for autopay. I sure hope they saw that what you’re talking about was a terrible idea and went back and that’s why I got the good deal that I can travel with. I’m going to be pissed if the price goes up and it stops working on the road. Thanks for the vid!

Good luck with Connecten. It seems pretty good. My only problem with it is you need to be in a strong cell tower area.
As a boondocker, I chose a different route. My RV came with a Winegard 360 4G antenna on the roof. That runs to a Gateway router. You can use various SIM cards/data plans.
I chose Verizon’s 150 GB/month plan at $110/month.
Works fantastic, deep in the forest or desert where wireless signals are weak. As the Wingard 360 boosts the cell signal.

We're just getting started in the RV life. I'm old, broken and retired but my wife is still working and our daughter will be starting school in a couple years so, internet is important for us. So far T-Mobile magenta plan has worked well for us. Next week we're heading to TT Green Mountain, where I first found your channel, for two weeks. That one has me a bit concerned, but there's a Starbucks and McD nearby. Let us know how the connect ten goes, it might be an option for us in the future.

T-Mobile actually told me it works where ever you get cell signal, so if you can make a call on your T-Mobile service phone you can get internet. However, they told me they would not guarantee it working on the move - as you driving but when you stop in a campground, for example, it should work. I have been using and it did work every time I was in a campground, in fact I love it. This is my travel internet for about 2 years now.

2+ years with TMHI. It works very well but $160, no way! Starlink on order!

On January 3rd, the first set of satellites supporting the T-Mobile and Starlink partnership were launched into low-Earth orbit with SpaceX's Falcon 9 rocket. This significant event marks a new chapter in our relentless pursuit of being the best in the world at connecting customers to their world.

Ill wait till they actually disable it before I panic... There are quite a few sources who say geo fencing isn't possible for these devices.

We got one after you told us about it last year. It was a game changer for us, because now I can work when we go camping! We had no issues when we went in July, but thanks for the heads up about this issue - we’ll have to keep that in mind when we go back next year. (The Hill Family at Lake George!)

Not sure why they would care about where you are? You can use your phone and hotspot where ever you go. I imagine at some point Starlink will be built out everywhere (most) so perhaps that becomes more viable.

I had the best experience with my mobile 5g modem. Sadly the service is not availible where I live. I miss my old area 😔

Wonder if there's a way to spoof the GPS? Take it apart and disconnect the GPS antenna. Who knows, what have you got to lose?
