My boys' room was always a disaster mess of toys, so I decided to make a big change and take all the toys out. The toys now live in the basement on a toy shelf, and only the ones that actually get played with. Now their room is a nice calm and tidy space for them and not a chaotic mess. They never really played up there, anyway!

I completely agree with this. My kids have never had toys or tvs/electronics in their room. Their rooms are calm and intended for sleeping. They have no problems going to bed. 😊

I would probably utilize a basement for toys if we had one but we don’t so I make all the toys stay in their rooms. Otherwise they’d be in our living room.
