Buddy, I am so very blessed!!! My oldest grandchild, my only grandson, has announced, has done a campus visit, and has committed to becoming a minister when he graduates high school. He's a Junior this year, and announced last summer his decision to follow the same calling my son, his father, followed after 2 years of playing college football on a scholarship. My son walked away from football and the scholarship to attend Bible College and become a minister himself. Sadly, I felt the same calling when I was a Freshman in high school, but for whatever reason, I convinced myself that I wasn't worthy. I still carry the regrets of that decision to this day 48 years later. Please younguns, if you feel the calling, you ARE worthy! God wouldn't be calling otherwise!!

GM Buddy… my oldest son is 57 y o & I remember when he was small, going to the Dr & reading him a childrens Bible story from hardcover books.
I don’t remember even seeing these books when they got older. It was full of colorful pictures that you could tell your child what, who & why. Haven’t seen them in many years.

Whenever church doors were open, hub & me and two kids were there. Sundays, Wednesday Bible study, revivals, we were there dressed respectfully…as if we’re going to meet the King. Our kids are 51 & 49 now, raising their broods the same way. They’re all, ALL, stand up productive grandchildren. God is good…

When my kids were much younger, we’d take them to church and to keep them occupied during the service, we would have them draw what the pastor was talking about. You would be surprised at how, at that young age, the understanding they had because they got to put into pictures what the rest of us were trying to ingest.

Buddy, thanks for putting this out there. My kids are grown but this is such a needed message these days. I feel like people are so caught in the grind of day to day life that Church, Bible study, and even our Lord have been pushed to the back burner. I think this accounts for a lot of the problems our society is having today.

The best thing is to take a child to church like I did. When grown I didn’t attend for several years, then have returned. I have never forgotten my upbringing. Wonderful parents. Thank god 4 them!
