Great review and a sweet rig. I want to stress that Tilta is the best made DSLR system out there.  I'm a 30+ year cinematographer and worked in Hollywood for the entire time, so I know how cheap kits will fall apart in real world production situations.  Tilta gear is rugged and nothing but quality. The other kits are tinker-toys by comparison. The fact that you can use it with your Sony is proof of that. I'v ealso used mine to mount Red cameras.

I bought the complete Tilta 3, with their matte box, Follow focus, etc.. all the accessories, around $1200 in March of 2013. I also have the Lanparte battery mount/power distribution box that is awesome. It comes with a variety of DC cables to run the entire rig off the Anton Bauer battery system to include Nikon D800, Atomos Ninja Blade HDMI recorder & a Small DP4 EVF. I can shoot all day with 3 batteries, never have run out of power.

My first run-n-gun shoot demonstrated the need for a more sturdy viewfinder holder than the MA T03 holder.  After days of research I found Tilt's NEW EVF holder at AliExpress importers for $282(no shipping, no import duty) compared to $359 from B&H. Arrived from China by DHL in 7 days. Check out Tilta sellers on Ali Express, amazing deals.

Thanks for the inside on the compatible baseplates from Manfrotto....I was going nuts trying to find the Tilta one which is way overpriced and short.
