Star Conflict in 2022 [Basic intro for beginners]

This video was meant as an intro to Star Conflict from my own subjective viewpoint, it contains, what I believe, every single thing that you really need to know in order to play the game at a decent beginner level.

Although many seasoned players will probably disagree with me on a few points, it is what it is and I will highlight any comment that might aid the notion of understanding the game a bit better.

For the new players out there and those that might be interested in this relic of a game, I hope this serves as some kind of a skeleton for you to flesh out whilst playing.

FAQ:
The free roam is not like EVE.
The sectors/maps are not like Elite dangerous, it's a sphere with things in it.
There is actually up and down in this game, don't be disoriented.
There is no character/avatar building menu.
The game is still alive.
No, it won't die soon™.
The playerbase was always small.
You can buy anything but the knowledge of how to play better.
Buying things wont make you a better player.
As long as you participate in a event, you can get the latest content for free.
You can have everything for free if you want to grind it.
DLC's cant be had for free, only $$$.
Although DLC's are expensive, you ain't missing out on anything.
~10 years existence = ~10 years of content = a lot of stuff to grind for.
If you are a completionist, run away, don't look back. I'm not joking. Or am I?
It's not a simulator.
There is no VR support nor gamepad support.

I haven't played this game in probably 4 years or so, but I used to play it constantly. My username was "apistocatfish", and I was in NASA if that corp is even around anymore... I loved this game so much but other things got in the way and they kept making stupid changes and the playerbase got smaller and smaller. The movement mechanics were what made it so special for me--they made the skillcap enormously high. The only other PvP game I've ever liked as much as SC is World of Tanks which I still play occasionally.

I think my last ship loadout was Loki, Stingray, Sawtooth, Gargoyle. Sometimes I'd switch out for Thar'ga when I felt extra dirty.

I think the weapons I ran on those 4 were Phaser/Ions, Thar'kth/Singularity, Ions/Gravibeamer, and Boson/Positron. Phaser Loki and Thar'kth Stingray were a fucking nasty combo. I did so well with those.

Sometimes I want to redownload the game and destroy some PvP matches again but I hate having to deal with all the bad changes that The memories are nostalgic though.

Wow! Is this game is still alive?
-KnightForEyes here. I was thinking this game is just died... Not getting too much newbies. Mostly fighting agaisnt pretty cancer ships. Fun fact that was the reason I just gaved up playing this game. Seed chips etc... Just ruined whole idea of the game. Fighting etc was just perma grinding and payin up those chips to get better.
Im thinking that this game doesnt got long sadly. And gaijin at some point close those servers too... The money...
Anyway I hope this game gets the attention it deserves... So at least after its death... Maybe community will make a community project...

I love the background ant detail at 9:38. Looks epic. It makes me want to explore the world of Star Conflict. But is it worth compared to something like Elite:Dangerous? I think it's the third time I'm hovering SC on Steam and watching a video on it, but haven't installed it yet.

Hi, returning player here, i have 2 questions...

1 - Is this game better on mouse/keyboard or is more a controller oriented? (i used mouse/kb and sometimes it was hard to maneuver even the smaller ships)

2 - It is better just to go straight to the next rank of ships, until the purple ones, or should i upgrade all of them to lvl 10 and go to the next rank?
