VITA Free Tax Preparation Services

The Department of Social Services in Santa Barbara County is dedicated to making sure our customers receive the help, information and resources they need to be able to make sure their families are safe, secure and healthy. We are once again partnering with the United Way to help spread the word on the work they are doing to help people in our community file their taxes for free, and get the most out of their returns. Many in our community pay hundreds of dollars a year to have someone file our taxes for us. While that is not a bad thing in and of itself, that money is invaluable for those struggling to make ends meet. Which is why we want to spread the word of this great program that offers free online tax preparation services for households making up to $73,000 a year and free in person tax preparation services for household making up to $67,000 a year.
