Such a lovely podcast episode, girlies.. and so full of inspiration 🫶 Oh, and Carmen, if you don't wear that gorgeousness of a shawl & Instant Crush sweater, I'm totally up for buying them off you.. so in love with the colours 😘😆

Happy New Year! I live both of your sweaters! All of them actually. Carmen I was very sick too as my kids came from Nova Scotia and my grandkids ended up sick we had 4 emergency visits in a row and once they all left I ended up sick! I have never been that sick before in my life and I’m old! I’m just getting over it and it’s the first time I’ve ever been too sick to knit. I just sat there with my eyes closed. I couldn’t hold needles in my hands. Glad that’s over with!! Glad you are better!! Take care!!

good morning and happy new year! y’all have inspired me to be more relaxed with my knitting and trust the process instead of constantly stressing over things like gauge. can’t wait to see what y’all make in 2025!

Hello there, Carmen and Jackie. I wish you a beautiful year full of love and knits!
I'm so excited about the Marie Wallin KAL. I have been trying to knit Yell forever. I started last year (after buying the kit in 2019!), and I had to rip it because I was too much off gauge. I just started over again, and my idea is to try to knit some rounds every day and having it done by the end of the year. So the KAL is perfect - it will definitely give me the push to finish! Thank you for your positivity and the joy you spread.

I woke up this morning, brushed my teeth and washed my face, the house was still dead silent so I snuck downstairs and picked up the test knit I’m working on and turned on this video, it took me only a minute to wake up and realize that Carmen is wearing the same sweater I’m testing right now!! 😂 and now I cannot wait to get this beauty off my needles!! I’m using Rowan Kid Classic and I am so in love!!! 😍 Carmen, yours looks FAB!!!!

gleðilegt nýtt ár from here in Iceland, you two! lovely to check in with you this morning while I pick up and work on a sleeve I've been avoiding (my Mastiha! in Phinela worsted! need to finish and then figure out my version of the button band issue). Carmen, both the red and gold sweaters are color-amazing -- bravo on both counts. and love the recap of the year's knits, especially (oddly) the didn't-wear-so-much category -- like your Instant Crush, I made one all-over colorwork sweater this past year in insanely soft yarns that I love but never wear -- the patterning, while gorgeous to look at, just feels too busy to wear & makes me incredibly self-conscious, even though I love the colors and the fabric -- like the sweater is shouting past me, somehow. so it feels a bit ironic that I'm also very excited about the Wallin-along or whatever the KAL ends up being called -- I'll just need to choose my colors carefully to perhaps be on the more low-contrast/subtle side of things. and I think my 2025 should probably be fewer shawls, even though I love making them, as I really don't wear the large ones much at all -- I LOVE a small one I can wind tightly around my neck, but the big ones are, again more like Carmen, more like cardigans except I'd prefer to have the sleeves.

So excited! I forgot to tell you girls you spent this last Saturday with me making Grandma’s sauce which took 8 hours! It was so nice to have you with me as I made the sauce and watched your older episodes! This morning it’s even better as I can just relax and knit with you both!

Jackie your Dreamer cardi is soooo good! I wasn’t really attracted to the pattern in boucle but your version - exactly what I’m looking for. Such a great throw over anything cardi that can be dressed up!

I LOVED your make nine discussion--I've been trying so hard lately to organize my knitting butterfly mind toward a more cohesive, I guess more "planned" project list, and your conversation and ideas around doing the same was just so good. Going beyond the "capsule wardrobe" concept and deeply integrating yourself--whoo, amazing. Thank you! My most worn, most favorite, most reliable and most Old Faithful is that genius Melissa's Turtledove. That pattern has worked for me in any size, with any yarn, every time. Honestly, I'll never not be knitting one. I'm getting ready to cast on my TENTH Turtledove! As always, thank you for all the inspiration. xoxo

Caitlin’s swancho was always a swoon for me but double mohair 😱 Jackie I love it. I’ve knit double mohair a few times and I adore it. I’ve wet blocked with no issue.

Stick everything in the freezer and voilà you’re back to being socially acceptable.

Mohair - just use a soft bristle brush and give it a little groom (when it’s had too much wear) and it’s magic, back to new.

Feel better Carmen 😢 thanks for the fun, Karen 🥰

Oh my gosh. I placed a Sonder Yarn order two days ago, taking advantage of their 20% off sale. Sunday Morning 4-ply in Radio Flyer and Halo in Drop Dead Gorgeous. I knew they weren’t a perfect match, but I thought they’d play well together. Then I saw Carmen’s sweater in 5 o’clock Somewhere and DDG and had to have that combination! I just placed another order for the 4-ply in 5 o’clock Somewhere. Not sorry! 😂 Thanks for the inspiration!
