Made this video at the right time... the trailer for Insidious 5 just came out! 😂

One of the biggest plot holes that wasn’t touched on is how Josh was able to afford such nice houses on a teachers salary.

The red demon jump scare is probably the most scared I have ever been in a movie.

In my opinion the scariest shot in the whole franchise is when Josh’s mum is reciting her ‘dream’ and she asks what the Demon wants, and he slowly points his claw towards Dalton’s body…

I’m SO happy you covered the scenes in Chapter II where Josh affects his past in the further. My 13 year old brain was totally blown when they added all that context

This is my favorite horror franchise ever. It me the shivers every time. I love your theory about Elise leading by accident the red demon to Dalton.

it’s so crazy because I used to think insidious and the conjuring where in the same universe just because of the actors 😭

It is a sign that humanity still may be redeemable that Elise is the main star of this franchise. She's not your typical young, glamorous movie star but still carries these films with her charm and charisma.

The reason the third movie has that jump scare with the Lipstick Faced Demon is because its showing where it came from. The demon was originally attached to Elise i think and the reason that scene where she opens the door and sees Dalton fall off the ladder is explaining how the Lipstick Faced Demon even got to Dalton in the first place. Dalton hears that creaking noise which is the noise that the demon makes and that's how it got through. It was stalking Elise and went through the door she opened once it saw Dalton and thats what leads up the first movie.

What’s crazier than the insidious story line is the fact that Jenna Ortega was secretly in EVERYTHING before she was in scream/Wednesday. I can’t be the only one way who says “wait she was in too?” Any time she shows up in an older movie or show.

In my opinion, the red lipstick demon looks like some cool Darth Maul cosplay. The first movie really stood out compared to it's sequels.

It seemed pretty obvious that the reason the prequel showed Dalton's door opening is because the door was left open. The whole movie constantly speaks about how Elise inadvertently opens doors for these demons and the demons can't enter without having the door opened for them. Her opening that door and leaving it open is just yet another of her pattern of accidentally bringing demons into the world and into people's lives. Was a really interesting and subtle way of showing _why_ the first movie happened in the first place. I guess if you got it then you got it and if you didn't, well...

Blair witch never showed the monster not because they were being clever but because of a complete accident. When heather is screaming “what is that” as she’s running, she was originally supposed to show a creature running towards her, but the actress didn’t know that was supposed to happen and got truly scared and missed the shot.

I have not seen the other Insidious films besides the first two, but I love how the first two tie up all the loose ends. The first film ends in a scary cliffhanger, and the sequel makes the first one make much more sense

I think the idea of Elise leaving the red door open is a cool as fuck idea.

I see it as she obviously opened that red door by accident. In leaving it open, she's let spirits from the further go through it and get Dalton. So I see it as she's responsible for Dalton going through what he went through in the first film by leaving the door open on accident.

I think it's a fucking cool scene.

Excellent analysis... very excited that Patrick Wilson is directing the next one. Truly an underrated actor... he knows these kinda movies so well... I think it'll be a great movie.

The first one is easily one of my top favorite horror movies, that one jump scare still gets me to this day

I think the way they justify the jump scare ending of 3 is meant to be symbolised that the red demon followed Elise after her trip to the further in that movie. We know that he wants to possess the living so he could be hoping for a chance to try and possess Elise but since she tries to avoid going to the further, he just continues stalking her. When she opens that door, he realises that Dalton also harnesses the gift of astral projection and since he's a kid, it would be easier for the red demon to possess him, which is where the events of the first movie take up

I know he doesn't cover The Red Door in this video since it wasn't out at the time, but Dalton's painting of his dad carrying him at the end of The Red Door made my wife and I legit tear up lol

This was the first horror movie I ever watched on my own and I remember being so shocked because it was an actual good movie and I rewatched it over and over due to all the Easter eggs even as a kid lmao
