A crazy play occured at the end of third quarter of the game between BYU and Arizona State, when BYU QB Jaren Hall threw an interception to Arizona State's Merlin Robertson. He ran down the sideline and returned the ball 60 yards down the field before BYU running back Tyler Allgeir chased him down and stripped the ball from him. BYU fell on the loose ball and recovered it, 60 yards away from where the play originally started. BYU went on to defeat Arizona State 27-17.

Do you guys think BYU has a shot at the playoff this year if they go undefeated?

Quite possibly the most heads-up forced fumble I have ever seen. The hustle and the I.Q. to knock the ball out of the hands but into the field of play is just special.

1. He stumbles initially with the defender at full momentum with the ball heading for an easy 6.
2. He has the speed and determination to catch up.
3. He has enough speed to actually slow down to time jumping/legally grabbing the left shoulder pad of the ball carrier.
4. This move turns the ball carriers body inward towards the field of play and lifts the carriers right arm exposing the ball.
5. Perfect punch out to finish it off.
6. Casual trot back to the sideline perhaps not knowing he just saved the game and potentially the season for BYU.

Algier saved the game with that play if you ask me. Bad ass play by a stud player.

That would have taken 10 episodes in anime

That was the sickest play I’ve seen at BYU in a long time

That is a 110% effort on BYU to correct for the interception, from the amazing forced fumble tackle to the QB trailing the play for 30 yards to land on the fumble. And the best part is this sequence won them the game. They won by a point margin smaller than if the Arizona State player scores.

This one of the single greatest forced fumbles I've ever seen, spectacular focus.

That #25 RB for BYU is arguably one the best in the country. I think ASU needed this game--they can win the Pac12.

That was a borderline wrestling move he pulled

I was super confused why he wasn't just tackling the guy then he unleashed a hulk smash

This was a spectacular play. But did anyone else laugh when they watched it? That was literally a haymaker punch.

ik they lost a ton of yardage, but that momentum swing of that play probably helped more

Looks like Robertson’s foot swung out of bounds but came back down well into the grass at 0:53. Such an awesome play.

I like how the band starts playing DVs Imperial March after, sets the tone just right.

No one can run from the Chosen One.
