A Typical Day Building The GREATEST AUTOMOTIVE SHOP In The WORLD

We've got the ultimate network installed, now it's time for the ultimate balcony. There was a lot of work that needed to be done to the warehouse to prep for the balcony and getting the wall full removed was a huge part. I spent a whole day solving problems left from previous jobs and getting ready to drop the last girder. Now everything is out of the way, we just need to cut the steel plate off the back wall and start standing up our 60ft by 25f balcony!

Common Questions:

What motorcycle do I ride? A few. Ducati 1198, Honda Goldwing, Honda Grom, Honda Ruckus

What do I do for a living? Make YouTube videos.

Can you wheelie? No, I suck.

Are you fast? Sort of. I suck mostly though.

Where can I keep up with you off the bike?

Instagram: WatchJRGo

Facebook: WatchJRGo (or JRGo, FB hates my branding)

Why do you ride so dangerously? What do mean? I was doing 25.

Do you go to the track? Of course, hopefully there will be videos in the future.

Do you play video games? No, but I might stream N64 Goldeneye at some point. Twitch: WatchJRGo

Are you afraid the police will watch your videos and arrest you? Something something evidence something something warrants and due process of law

time lapse of vacuuming the insulation is strangely satisfying.

I feel like this shop is just one tornado away from becoming really clean. Keep up the good work JR

I'm reasonably happy with you showing how long things take. So many people don't realize the actual pace of progress in making spaces like this.

This is no longer a Ware house, it is now a Car house! Thank you for taking us along for the ride as you create JR’s Smoke Shop. 😊 ( also, a quick thought for the balcony, add a firehouse pole for quick egress 😳) (adds to the COOL factor)

FYI, for any further installs of receptacle outlets, you need to have the ground plug facing up/top. NEC code (National Electric Code) now requires this. That way if something metal were to fall down between the pins/prongs of the plug it won't short out between the neutral and hot side. Instead with the ground facing up, only the ground will be in contact with the metal object and no short or possibly energizing it with the hot side only, if it were to only hit one of the two pins.

I've actually had this happen in front of me in a equipment rack that had the hot and neutral facing up, we removed a metal cover over a server and it slipped down and made contact (with a plug that was not fully inserted, only about 2mm exposed but enough) and shorted out that entire power strip. Luckily the rack had two power strips on each side, and all the servers were dual power supply and separate circuits, they continued on without interruption. Your electrician should do this for all your install work. I don't know if you will need an inspection with adding of the balcony, but this could be an issue they point out that needs attention.

Keep up the good work! Fantastic videos and I look forward to seeing more of the tear down and construction of the new shop! It's so cool you were able to get this amazing building!

Kudos to the electrician who mounted the receptacles properly, with the ground facing up. You should do the same.

I don't know about the cost, but watching Canadian Mike Holmes do renovations the right way has me convinced that spray in foam insulation is the way to go. If you are so inclined to rip out the damaged/ugly fiberglass bats in the building. Its pretty damn awesome stuff, like supersizing that spray can you buy at Home Depot. Has a better R value and airtight seals every nook/cranny/crack in that building, its just such a superior product vs fiberglass batts.

This is a huge undertaking my Man. It is coming along well though. As a contractor I can totally relate to doing work like this and you are absolutely correct in that you can always count on the job taking longer than you expected, and you always find there is more work than you thought it would be. You are going to have an awesome shop and the nicest one on YT. I can see the value of your property rising daily.

Oh, I built an artificial grass patio and have some suggestions. If the room is less than 15 feet wide the install will be very simple. Also spring for a foam playground mat for underneath. These are intended for 10 foot playground falls, but will make it comfortable enough to sleep on. Some good sales right now on turf. A big question is the backfill for the turf, rubber or sand.

It's so exciting having your own business. There seems no end to the energy available for improving it. Each project provides new energy, and hours go by without fatigue or even awareness of the time. Good work, dude, keep living your dream.

The vacuuming does wonders to the looks of the walls. Lots of work though.

Hey bud, a good habit to get into when using any voltage detector or even a Multimeter is to test first on a known active voltage source like a power outlet that is proved working . Only takes a minute, that way you know the voltage detector is working properly first.
