MegaCities-ShortDocs [Contest & Festivals]

Our ONG identifies short documentaries raising awareness about the megacities' challenges and associated existing social / environmental solutions around the world.

We are organizing an annual international contest open to journalism and audiovisual students, and also inhabitants of those megacities, who have an interest in showing the world what is happening in their megacity regarding issues such as mobility, security, education, accommodation and much more.

Some 20+ universities are supporting the project, for example EICAR and ESJ in Paris, CUNY and NYU in New York, Waseda and Temple in Tokyo ... , allowing their students to get involved.

The 2016 edition - the 2nd one- is taking place in 11 Megacities: New York, Mexico, São Paulo, Paris, Cairo, Moscow, Delhi, Manila, Seoul, Shanghai and Tokyo. Next year the 34 megacities existing in the world will be covered.

After the selection phase by a professional jury and online votes, the best shortdocs will be screened during the MegaCities ShortDocs Festivals held in Fall 2016 in New York City, Tokyo and Paris.

Our Goals:
- Identify and launch new talented docmakers
- Raise awareness about megacities' challenges and existing solutions
- Improve MegaCitizens lives showcasing inspiring examples to put into action new initiatives
