Lessons Learned From Green Stormwater Infrastructure

The North Central Texas Council of Governments will hosted a webinar titled, "Lessons Learned from Green Stormwater Infrastructure Design and Construction" on Tuesday, November 19, 2019.

There was a presentation by Jake Aalfs, a landscape architect at the San Antonio River Authority. He has five years of experience in managing incentive programs to promote design and construction of green stormwater infrastructure. His presentation will include:

• An introduction to the most common landscape designs for managing urban stormwater runoff.

• An overview of the practices used to help manage stormwater quantity and quality in relation to development in San Antonio, Texas.

• A discussion of lessons learned over the last five years.

Mr. Aalfs is passionate about promoting green stormwater infrastructure methods in order to protect the San Antonio River Watershed. He has a Master of Landscape Architecture and B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Cal Poly Pomona. Jake manages the Watershed Wise Rebate program. This program promotes the use of low impact development design principles to treat stormwater.

There was also a presentation by Brenton Dunn and Michelle Wood-Ramirez from the Tarrant Regional Water District.
