From listening to the Appellate Court Justice's questioning Smith's Lawyers, this was easily getting thrown out by the Appellate Court. Smith was dropping these cases no matter if Trump won or not. Trump's win's gave Smith an easy was to save a little dignity by not have the Appellate Court toss these bogus cases.
