Rules:
1. Only my starter in battle
2. No items in battle, except held items
3. No glitches, exploits, or save states
4. No movepool evasion-boosting moves before level 100*

Rule details:
-- I make no attempt to have the exact same rule details between generations.
-- I am allowed to manipulate my starter
-- I play the game at 4x game speed
-- For fair comparisons my Pokemon have perfect (or near perfect) DVs / IVs
-- I am allowed to catch HM users - I can use all field moves
-- Evasion boosting is allowed if the move is not obtained from the Pokemon’s movepool. For example, using Mimic or Mirror Move to boost evasion is allowed.
-- Surge's trash-can-puzzle is automatically solved
-- The bike is allowed in gen1 & 4, banned in gen2, and allowed only to bypass terrain in gen3
-- Saving between league members is allowed
-- I can pause the game and timer to take breaks
-- Items obtained with the ability Pickup can only be used if the starter obtained them
-- The footage is sped up & slowed down to match the pace of my narration

These Rule details apply only to generation 1:
-- All battle-mechanic glitches are allowed (glitches that occur outside of battle are banned)
-- In generation 1, I'm allowed to skip Marowak with the Poke Doll

If you didn’t read these rules and left a comment. Thanks for helping with the algorithm.

If you're new around here, Venomoth is a Psychic/Flying type, you can't change my mind.

Man, I was so excited for this one when you announced it during the Butterfree stream. My favorite Gen 1 Mon hands down, even though it's not very strong lol

Ok Scott, I know I’m super late to commenting this video, but I wanted you to know that I absolutely YELLED at the top of my lungs when you beat Brock at lvl 16 during the follow up. One of the hypest moments ever on your channel!!

Also, I have been loving the insights into the behind the scenes we've been getting lately. Thanks!

Someone said in the chat about AI teaching that it was like dealing with a toddler. And as someone who just went through having my cousin's kids over who are 5 and 3 years old, I can imagine it. Both of them played Smash Bros. Ultimate with me and their dad for hours, and the both of them self destructed dozens of times seemingly each match and wondered why they lost when they basically never jumped. The five year old begged for us not to attack him and couldn't understand that the computer player wasn't one of us. And the three year old was of course given the controller that didn't work for most of the matches. It was hilarious to watch. But I bet the same thing without the ability to grow past a toddler in comprehension skills is a headache.

I really love watching stream vods. Watching a highlight real feels much less fun than watching the vod, and less so if I watched the stream or the vod. I feel bad not watching the highlight video, because that means I don't have the little red bar under all your videos.

I'd love having the highlights come out on the days you don't otherwise upload videos because sometimes on those days I miss pokemon.

One day a "what if we fixed focus energy" novelty video or novelty miniseries could be fun, with a rom hack that fixes focus energy and then sees how that helps different mons

Would love a second channel for super cuts. I like to watch the full streams and there’s a lot more cognitive information to sort through when I come to your page to find the video I want to watch.

"If I somehow shave off 10 minutes we might beat Mankey." Then proceed to do that. Amazing run.

My guess would be that Brock was given full heals because the developers wanted to teach players about type effectiveness as a core mechanic before status afflictions

Your original Beedrill video was the first one I saw

I think many of us agree that Beedrill learns Twineedle too late. I wonder how Beedrill would fair compared to Butterfree if Beedrill learned Twineedle earlier. Are there any other pokemon that are held back in the versus format because of unfair moveset design?

38:30 I bet the devs gave Brock 5 Full Heals per Pokemon because they wanted to teach the player that Normal and Poison moves suck against Rock Pokemon, but special moves (even Fire) are much better. Especially Water/Grass.

And not have your Beedrill poison your opponents and cheese the fight.

I might be wrong, but I think one difference between emerging generative AI technology and emerging website technology is that websites were cool and people liked them. These companies see AI as free labor and are forcing it down our throats when we've explicitly expressed we don't want it.

one of the few times a Mon's time would improve by having to start from the beginning of the evo how many Mon would have improved times if evolution was allowed for these Red streams?

Just wana throw in Blacking out would save time as there would be less trips back and forth. They both may be 7 seconds but the extra xp from blacking out may well save 1 or 2 trips back, perhaps more which would be a small time save but a time save none the less.

Spoilers:

This was perfect, talking so much shit about the lvl 16 bruteforce strategy and having it work on the first go.
