If you are assigned the role of the scapegoat in the family, everything you do will look like rebellion and every punishment and withdrawal of your rights will be seen as deserved. You don’t even have to do anything except breathe.
What Harry is doing is necessary but it will grind him down until he gives up, at which point, his family and the public will declare victory, vindicated of their irrational hatred. Because there’s nothing even remotely rational about doing this to a person who by all accounts is just a regular person, a good person who occasionally did mildly ill advised things in his youth - like everyone who hates his guts. And so they throw their sins on him to expiate themselves until the sacrifice scampers into the wilderness.

There were many complaints today that Harry’s court case drew attention away from Charles’ visit in Rome - that he knows and should observe the hierarchy.
Yet they never ask why the media chose to cover Harry, even interrupting regular broadcasting in Australia.

As an American, I don’t have a deep understanding of the monarchy, so I’m aware that I may be oversimplifying the issues involved. To me, it seems that a man in his thirties with a wife and family, has decided to get a new job and move to a place that seems best for his children. People all over the world make such changes all the time, without their choices being adjudged to be treacherous or outrageous. Families who respond as the royal family has done are thought to be strange, if not downright crazed.

Harry is a war veteran for the UK *and* a member of the royal family who is far more of the present age than any of them. His marriage ripped the cover off the lie that ethnic equality and equality of opportunity exists there just with that. Him being himself is what some seem to resent. But, who ELSE can he be? Nobody. Where's the 'christian' love for him as well? No forgiveness, no mercy, no understanding just...condemntation heaped upon him, and by his own and before the whole world. That's tragic. Harry should hold his head high for having the backbone to do what he knows to be right whether he's respected for doing so or not. I hope he finds warmer, more humane company in his life.

Professor this idea that Harry does not get security whilst in the UK is not true. The lower court made it clear that he gives notice when he is travelling into the UK and he will be provided with security commensorate with risk to him at any one time.
Harry's case is unique in that he resides in another country and ideally that country should pick up his security bills but yet Canada refused as did America. IPP status does not envisage another country providing continuous long term security. IPP status envisages providing security for short stays. Harry therefore provides his own security in the USA. When he lands in the UK he is met at the airport by security and provided with cover throughout his short stays.
Unfortunately there is a status symbol attached to security and what Harry wants are outriders and two cars following him like William. His justification is that he too is the son of the King. If William did not have 24/7 security I can assure you Harry would not be demanding the same.

None of the other royals get protection either unless on official duties so he hasn't been singled out. He's a multi-millionaire so can afford his own security detail.

Protection should be based on risk factors not just because you are royal, and we all know that his risk factor is higher than any other member of that family, Harry did not set the court date.

Prince Harry wasn't here to meet his father. Harry didn't choose the court dates. He is a grown man although it would be nice to see his father. I don't think Harry would be slaming his pen down in court knowing the media would be scrutinising his every actions. He is more disciplined than that, and the judges would take dim view of that kind of display these days. That's his father and brother mo these days. Harry's long therapy and various mental health and exercise therapies have given him a more disciplined behaviour.

I think it's a mischief maker who is reporting that or the media or one of Harry's detractors in the media trying to find something headline grabbing to say negatively about him. It's just like the headlines about the woman shoutinng support to Harry in the court. If all she said was Harry we support you in a nano second everyone would realise she meant no harm to the prince and would have relaxed.

I don't think she was the reason he was leaving the court. He was leaving because the scession that was open to the public and the media was over for the case and they were going on a break before the private scession would start and he probably was on his way to have a bite to eat before returning to court without an audience. People may have been slightly startled by the ladies outburst nothing more significant than that. Of course his bodyguards and the police would have been super alert because of the circumstances that is understandable but the headlines to sell papers and get clicks of course were dramatic for that purpose.

The courts are the only hope for Harry and his family to redress the unjust and unfair treatment to him.
Harry, on his own, does not want to go to court but he was compelled to do so by the evil treatment of him.
Given the avalanche of perilous threats, Harry required a commensurate police protection and security.
All said, police protection and security are a function of risk factors rather than perquisites of office holders.

Harry's relationship with his family is his business. It's none of ours. Speculation and moralising is distasteful. And profiteering. Leave it be.

It's clear that King Charles and Prince William do not want Prince Harry to receive the security he is entitled to. If he were granted this security, Harry's visits to the UK with his family would draw more attention, shifting the spotlight away from Charles and William. Despite what the media portrays, there is actually a lot of love for Prince Harry and his family, which is why the attacks against them have become more vicious. I pray and hope that Prince Harry receives the justice and protection he deserves. As King Charles meets with the Pope, I can only hope he takes some time for soul-searching and considers doing right by his son, who would show him love regardless of the circumstances.

Professor with due respect let us not re-write history. Diana was offered security but REJECTED that security because she felt they would keep Charles abreast of her movements. That was her choice. Diana was on a jolly with her boyfriend whose family owned the Ritz hotel. They knew paps were waiting outside. Why did they not just spend the night in the Ritz hotel? They chose to venture out and chose to let Dodi's sober driver go first as a decoy and got into a car with a drunk man as a driver who crashed the car and caused her death.
Diana, despite her other strengths liked to play mind games with Charles through the press. She took her two boys on holiday with Dodi two weeks earlier and made sure the world saw her - it was two fingers up to Charles. Charles had thrown a huge party for Camilla and her going through that swivling door with Dodi was to rile Charles up but alas she stepped to her death. Very sad indeed.
