Even the intro has a metal feel to it. You should be driving the chorus with the vocals a bit behind you, but you sit with the vocals just like a metal song would be played.

As a metal drummer who got into worship drumming last year...This is 100% me. THE AMOUNT OF TIMES I have to fight going into a half time breakdown beat is agony. I keep joking that I am going to bring my double bass pedal to the church kit but haven't yet. I do a lot of rock/metal fills though which feels good.
