And everyone saying Green Day is pop punk is most likely too young to remember they’re first few albums - POP means ‘popular’. Kerplunk, dookie, insomniac and even Nimrod were straight up ‘punk’ or ‘skate punk’ albums - they didn’t start getting mainstream recognition until American idiot besides the alternative stations playing bits like ‘basket case’.

Same as those mentioning The Offspring - they were straight up Punk Rock until “pretty fly for a white guy” came out on Americana - like 15 years after they’re first LP.

I’m assuming the writers of AP aren’t born before 1995 LOL

Personally I think Green Day is number 1 but yknow that's also partially because I could never get into Blink, they just aren't my sound I guess! And if you could even consider The Offspring pop-punk, they'd be number 2. But this list was REALLY solid

I disagree with it personally! Here's my top 5
1. Green Day
2. Sum 41
3. Yellowcard
4. All Time Low
5. The Wonder Years
Blink 182 is 8th, behind MxPx and Neck Deep. Good Charlotte out of the top 10, kicking off the 11 spot, behind by Fall Out Boy, who deserves a spot in the top 10. Good Charlotte are ahead of two knowable names in pop punk, Alkaline Trio and New Found Glory.

I mean. Paranore is straight pop now, Green Day doesn’t innovate, good charlotte retired and they were rapping last time I heard new music from the singer, pop punk? I go more “a day to remember” “sun-41(I know they are retiring this year but they don’t stop) are better options. Obviously chart topping bands are less punk and more pop every time.
