This week, host Kathleen Wallace sits down with Dr. Barbara Weinstein, Professor and Founding Executive Officer of the Health Sciences Doctoral Program at the CUNY Graduate Center. Dr. Weinstein is probably best known for her role in the development of the Hearing Handicap Inventory for the Elderly (HHIE), a self-assessment tool containing 25 questions that are designed to assess the impact of hearing loss in the emotional and social-situational adjustments of elderly patients.

In this episode, Dr. Weinstein discusses why using tools like the HHIE are so important in audiology, as well as the importance of collaborating with other health professionals as a key part of truly person-centered care.
