Getting real for a second: Andrea is in a very competitive environment (raised that way) and paired with a really good player with a head start. Alexandra was allowed to develop at her own pace, but Andrea is constantly seeing this head-to-head.

Case in point: She picked up almost 200 FIDE points from Feb-June this year, which is amazing. Alex only gained 40 points in that time. But because Alex started higher and happened to win those same brackets, Andrea feels like she did badly. And that's a shame, because she didn't.

Andrea needs to keep having fun as she plays. And in a practical sense, they should go to tournaments where Andrea plays in the under-2000 bracket and Alex plays above it. This gives Andrea a chance to shine without her sister's shadow.

Andre, I have ADHD just like you. I think it can be turned into an advantage if you work on your mental preparation instead of your chess preparation. Before my diagnosis I lost many games in which I had a big advantage due to mental fatigue from ADHD overthinking. After working on my mental strategy and taking my meds I became a university champion in Peru. You will be able to handle it and beat her!
